So by your way of thinking, EVERY SINGLE media product EVER made MUST be remastered to be ADA compliant at the cost of the original maker. Ernest Hemingway will be thrilled to hear that. So will the millions of Doctoral students who will now discover that in order to publish their thesis, they must PAY to have it made ADA compliant.
"The United States Government Will Likely Be the ONLY Customer For Smart Guns"
Absolutely no one with any experience using guns will willingly buy one. For a comprehensive, 3,000 word essay check the article by Jon Stokes here: http://techcrunch.com/2016/01/...
There is no such thing as "Earth Citizenship" so scratch that one. Nation of origin, hmmm, well okay for first generation, I would assume that would be the legal precedent, lacking any local governmental body to which you could apply for a change in citizen ship, you should retain your original one. Second generation? Now we have a problem.
Hopefully, by the time there IS a second generation on Mars, there WILL be local government. If the local government is a recognized State or Territory of an Earthbound government, again, I see no problem (other than the usual political squabbles that is). The one problem I foresee, is that "Corporate Governmental Entities" (you heard it here first), should and *must* be banned absolutely by International Law PRIOR to this happening.
Until advertisers commit to NOT invade personal privacy, there ARE no acceptable ads. I am all for funding the Internet through advertising revenue, it was a model that worked well for television and with suitable modifications works well for the Internet. But it is an established FACT that people will not make the moral choice when money is involved and that goes double for advertising executives.
This is one of the most lame-brained ideas I have ever heard. Even the two solutions offered by Microsoft are unacceptable. It needs to either default to "OFF" or be removed from Windows. This is an epic privacy and security failure in the making. I cannot believe a sane engineer came up with this it had to be a marketing drone with zero clues.
I can mathematically prove that you are a figment of my imagination. This is like that old saying about logic...it's a way of going wrong with confidence. Obviously some PR flake wrote the press release, no sane engineer would ever have made such statements.
In regards to Keck's first postulate, that hypersonic missiles travel faster than current missiles (read ICBMs) it is simply untrue. Even the long obsolete Minuteman II missiles were capable of achieving escape velocity, something that a hypersonic missile has yet to demonstrate. Regarding his second postulate that they possess greater maneuverability than what the current defense systems are designed to destroy, that is also suspect. Even ICBMs were capable of mid-course maneuvering, and as above, no hypersonic missile has demonstrated any capacity for "evasive maneuvering"...yet.
From Wikipedia:
"Ubuntu (/ubntu/ oo-buun-too; Zulu/Xhosa pronunciation: [ùúntú]) is a Nguni Bantu term (literally, "human-ness"") roughly translating to "human kindness"; in Southern Africa (South Africa and Zimbabwe), it has come to be used as a term for a kind of humanist philosophy, ethic or ideology, also known as Ubuntuism or Hunhuism (the latter after the corresponding Shona term) propagated in the Africanization (transition to majority rule) process of these countries during the 1980s and 1990s."
As such, Canonical itself is on shaky ground as this could be construed as violating clause "C) Terms that Disparage, Falsely Suggest a Connection with, or Bring a Person, Institution, Belief or National Symbol into Contempt or Disrepute" of USPTO regulations.
Try Second Life...it is a multi-user virtual environment with all the trappings of social media. However, it is an environment created by the users. You can do *anything* there, and I do mean anything, up to and including virtual sex if that is your bent. Extremely rich, immersive and even addictive (of course), virtual marriages have occurred there that led to real life marriages...and divorces.
Awesome, 111 comment so far and not ONE SINGLE constructive answer to the OP....
Would someone just please answer the man's question and list some current motherboards with no TPM/UEFI hardware? Geez.
Truly this isnt very surprising. Analog computing has been around a lot longer than digital and for certain things is far superior (read faster). Forcing things into a digital mold just "because" is a terrible mistake. Certain pieces of military hardware that I used to work with were analog and probably still are, it gives a "good enough" answer and does it orders of magnitude faster than equivalent digital devices.
Second the motion...
And to further exacerbate the problem, "managers" only count dollars they can see, as in wages. So paying a skilled programmer that has "already been there done that, not going to make those mistakes again", is out of the question. Not saying there aren't good programmers coming out of school, but they haven't learned some of the basics of programming no matter how hard their teachers may have tried to drill it in.
I have been a "hacker" since the 80s and still remember the console message from the IT manager "shut your program down, you're killing the mainframe..." This still happens every day to lots of new programmers while the experienced, skilled programmers become consultants called in only at the last minute to solve the problems caused by aforesaid manager for obscene amounts of money....wait what am I complaining about, I are one of those!
'...the First Amendment was not intended as a shield for those who steal, irrespective of the means.'
Let us try this again...the First Amendment makes no mention of stealing or being a shield for those who steal. It is quite simple really, CONGRESS (emphasis mine) shall make no law....the rest is pretty straightforward.
I would venture that the honourable Congressman Leahy needs to be recalled by his constituents since he obviously has NO clue as to the meaning of the Constitution and therefore cannot be entrusted to represent the great state of Delaware adequately. As for Mr Pisano, well look here the pot is calling the kettle black.....
Sorry folks, but "nuking" oneself is not as easy as this article tries to make it sound. If you define "nuking" as meaning setting off a Nuclear explosion rather than just making a radioactive mess of the area. All these accidents would never have resulted in the detonation of a nuclear device. At the very worst, detonating the conventional explosions by ANY method except the devices triggering mechanism would simply scatter radioactive debris for a few hundred yards. It is HARD to create a nuclear explosion. If it was as easy as this author tries to have you believe, Iran would have had the bomb in 1969.....
Yes, actually I do. My comment was meant to point out that by buying this product and thereby accepting Sony's assertion of rights over something that is "yours" we are encouraging the demise of our rights by establishing precedent.
If your "need" for that console is so great that you are willing to bargain away your ownership of said property then when they decide they also own your television, your microwave and your car...
Well, just remember, I told you so.
Given all the other problems with Sony thinking they continue to "own" the hardware after they have sold it to the customer, I would not take a Sony Playstation Phone if they paid me to use it.
From reports I have been seeing, there are widespread outages and disconnects in a variety of sites. Many games are failing to maintain stable connections. Lots of different sites are failing to load or loading very slowly. I don't think this is just a Facebook issue.
All hyperbole aside, it is obvious that AT&T consider themselves to be a step above the rest of us. Just look, they have defined what "facts" are. They are only the the data that AT&T has provided, everything else is not a "fact" its "dogma".

Buh -- bye Windows.

"if it tried to bring the money back to the U.S." Until it does so, this issue *IS* bullshit.

Sounds like a clear case for the application of the Rico Act.
They can have my Internet identity when they pry it from my cold dead hands....

Don't buy Sony products. Problem solved.
