As we all know, the attacks on 9/11 were in full compliance of international law.

Both of my teachers that participated in Vietnam stressed the horrible aspects of war and in no way make war look glorious. Even my physics teacher who stood on alert durring the Cold War piloting a B-52 loaded with 'nukes makes sure that we know that he doesn't belive war great. However, both understand the necessity and importance of a strong national deffense. While the "Let them go off and die" statement has been made numerous times, I hardly doubt that many people can state they don't love their freedom.

Just because they orbit every 45 minutes doesn't mean the will be over every spot on earth every 45 minutes. Remember, the Earth spins beneath the satelites and they are placed in angular orbits. In addition, they just don't leave their cameras rolling 24/7, they are targeted at specific targets that are requested. Again, I could be wrong.

While your idea seems like a good one, what are the chances of the satelite being overhead at that exact moment in time? As I understand it, they are stuck in pretty much static orbits that only fly over a certain spot every once and awhile (I'm not sure what the exact figures are, but there are a bunch of variables), and i'm pretty sure that they haven't been able to build spy birds that are in geostationary orbits yet. At least I hope not!

I just ordered "Buisiness DSL" (aDSL) from pacbell, which is 6mbit/384k, and starts you off with 32IP addresses, all for just $328 a month. A rip-off? You bet! It's the IP's that are the killer: 6mbit non-business (5 ip's) costs $178 a month. I am guessing they just want me to upgrade to a full T1 ($1500 here) if I really need the IP's. But can we all say "mad-phat lan parties" together? I sure can ;-)

As for the speeds, my current 1.5 residential dsl gets pretty decent rates: around 150k pretty consistantly. As for support, PBI is pretty good about getting things done. I have heard a bunch of install and outage problems with PBI, but for me the ride thusfar has been quite smooth.
