Oh they don't. Then why would they manufacture for Apple? Intel's real edge is not processor design, it's manufacturing know-how. Watch PBS's Silicon Valley and understand that Intel is less about designing great processors and more about beating the competition with better processor fabrication. Intel is at least 12 months ahead of everyone and so why would they give that lead up for Apple.
My ChromeBook is fast, my older HP running Ubuntu is fast. My new high-end HP running Win 7-64 with 32GB RAM takes 5 minutes to boot...
How much spyware/malware do you have on that HP Win7? That's about the only reason why I can think of for a computer to take anything more than 2 minutes.
I'm cleaning up my cousin's computer (Win 7-32) and it has a bunch of spyware on it. Still boots in about 2 minutes and this laptop originally came with Vista so it's probably from 2008.
If they're anything like the Chinese units I see at CES, it's regular Android with a remote that may be a Wii-style motion controller. Those units are much closer to Android's interface than Google TV interface. On-screen keyboards and all.
Google's support for Voice has been abysmal. Almost zero improvement in 2-3 years. I still can't get SMS to work a lot of the times. SMS verification for other services, never work. Can't use GVoice's VOIP service with an iPhone, so not much of a Skype replacement. I know the VOIP service works with a desktop browser but they refuse to implement it on the mobile app. Sometimes, you just can't get to a real computer and only have a tablet or smartphone on you. And when you can make a VOIP call, the quality is terrible and I would have to fall back to Skype.
What if News Corp decided to get into the phone business and have their phone manufacture by Foxconn running Firefox OS with exclusive content from FOX Entertainment ? Would that be FOXFirefoxconn? Or just FXFFX?
My last encounter with Best Buy was horrible. Ordered a neo-geo system online; BB sent a cheap printer instead. Then I went to the store to return it and had to wait 30 minutes to be told that "wrong items sent from the online store can't be returned in store."
XP or Snow Leopard or Windows 7. People prefer to continue using something that they know instead of learning something new unless there's a damn good reason to change. Going from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion is like going from Windows 3 to Windows 3.1 but she still won't do it as long as Apple supports Snow Leopard and her laptop still works.
and I'll probably skip this generation too. I don't have a couple of hours to sit down and play anymore. I haven't even finish MW2 (on Steam) or even Bioshock (the original).

Please, to the American public it may be news. To every other government on Earth, it's another day. They already know two things 1) we hack everyone 2) we spy on everyone. Terrorists already know that electronic communications are monitored that's why Bin Laden had human couriers delivering emails.
Wired magazine (yes, the print stuff) had an article on the NSA capabilities and facilities a few years ago. When I first heard the news from the Guardian I thought it was a reprint of the Wired article.
I offer "Daikatana" as the new term. "Daikatana": self-promotion of a product using negatives that out shines any positives the product may possess. (ie. "....will make you his bitch" or "suck it down because you know you want Halo")
I've ran into this several times now. 1) Computer craps out because of viruses/malware or dying hard drive. 2) reinstalled with original recovery disc, usually that's the end of it.
BUT sometimes 3) had to enter product key from the outside of the machine, activation fails 4) calls MSFT, ends up on the phone for about 45 trying to prove that I didn't pirate Windows and they finally gave me a working activation key.
Have had it happen on emachines, Lenovo and Asus. Never on Dell or HP.

Don't you need at least 3 satellites overhead to calculate a geocode?

Those are all Android devices not Google TV devices.
That's the main entrance for the NSA.

Certainly will cut down on polluters and help with China's population problem.

"Suck it up."
Wasn't that the marketing for Daikatana?
neither, they're trying to find some friends to play word games with them.
10 years ago? That was last month. That's their current policy if their online store screws up you can't return it to the physical store.

Because the P4 is out of production and toasters can't play games.

Yes, I MechWarrior 2 was awesome. But I meant Modern Warfare 2. :) I would totally buy MechWarrior 2 (accelerated version) again if it was on GOG.

Don't give them ideas, you know Adobe has people looking at tech sites for new ways to screw customers.
I'm going to throw out a guess of (-5) to +15 days after release we'll see a patch that does local authentication. Much like the Win7/Win8 patches.
In that case, I'll wait until you pass by. Punch you in the back of the head, rip the GG off and stomp on them.
At least, not a mistake for Motorola shareholders. They made out like a bandit on that deal.
