  1. Droid question on Principal Photography on Star Wars III Complete · · Score: 1
As I mentioned in an earlier post, there's no problem with the 'droids not recognizing Vader, Luke, etc. The bigger question is why Vader doesn't recognize them? But, there are lots of similar droids and he might only make the connection if they were together.

So: does Vader ever actually see R2D2 and C3PO together in episodes IV to VI? I can't remember.

Palpatine causes a fire which kills Padme and the children and blames some scapegoat. Anakin is driven by grief and guilt by his failure to save them, despire being horribly scared in the attempt, to the dark side and kills the scapegoat (Jar-Jar, please, let it be Jar-Jar!). Realising that he has fallen to the Sith, Yoda decides not to tell him that the twins in fact were rescued by the 'droids and are safe and in fact only tells even Obi-Wan that the boy survived; the girl is placed with a loyal noble family on Alderban.

The droids' memories are blanked to prevent this information ever falling into Vader's hands and Obi-Wan retreats to the desert where he keeps an eye on Luke as he grows up with his uncle.

I think that brings up up to episode IV.

It's not quite that simple but its also not the issue. The question is whether a person that buys an XBox simply to install Linux on it without ever using the Live service has a real contract with MS about what the hardware is to be used for. Obviously they don't. Equally obviously, M$ would like you to think that there is a contract since that allows them to exercise their criminal activities and monopolistic desires a bit more.

Mind you, thats the problem with imperial - you confuse mass and force, and use pounds for both

It's the same as the SI system: mass=pounds/kilograms, force=pound-feet/kilogram-meters. The fact that SI simply introduces a special name (Newtons) to disguise the mass-distance unit is the only difference.

SI generally has no advantage over the imperial system other than the fact that it is mostly standardised across countries. The British ton, for example, is bigger than the American ton and there is some difference between the gallons too (the British gallon is 10 pounds of water, I don't know what the US version is).

At the end of the day, in the age of computers the underlying logic of the system is of no real importance so long as you use one system throughout and don't do stupid things like having one programming team use kms, another use cgs, and another use imperial.
