Agreed, it is utterly appalling. It just happens that the Republicans currently in power don't give two bits about what Democrats are willing to bring to the table as a median offer. The attitude is that Republicans have their majority and they shouldn't have to listen to anything any Dem might have to say. On any issue. Especially with an idiot like Bush as President willing to stand on the pedestal and pass every single Republican piece of legislation that makes it to him.
The thing is, when Clinton was Pres, the Dem's played much nicer with the Repub's, because of a balance of power that Clinton provided to the system, now its all one sided, which it is NEVER EVER EVER EVER supposed to be. Don't be surpised if our entire system tanks if another round of a Republican controlled government comes through on the next Presidential election.
Now we see your true colors, he hands you your ass and all you can do is try to deflect it with bullshit instead of a thought out response addressing his argument. This is exactly how spinsters argue every point they can't factually or even thoughtfully backup.
Both Microsoft and EV1 Servers (the guys that paid SCO and tried to backtrack after the user forums exploded) are advertised on the front page. LinuxWorld has always been the premier sellout. Its nice to see someone finally having a ethical epiphany, but its just a BIT late. Hopefully none of the editors whom support MS advetising will get picked up by Linux Journal.
1.) Its none of your's or the government's business where I go and what I do.
2.) It can be used to restrict my ability to travel in the event I lose my mind some day and become some activist protestor. I might not be one now, but I always reserve the right to be one.
3.) Its more government BULLSHIT I have to worry about renewing and taking care of. Do you have any idea how much information is already out there about us? Do you have any idea what kind and the perceived value of information you give to the government when you have to file Self Employment taxes? This card will be used for all sorts of identification purposes and thats one hell of a database for adverspamming companies like Doubleclick to build and parse.
4.) Lets have a look at U.S. Constitution Amendment 4.
Article [IV.] The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
This allows for automated searches against me with a database upon any crimial or terrorist activity, the data base has to read (and reading a cache of the data counts as well!!!!) each person's set of records looking for a pattern. This is a search of everyone in the database. I will be searched whether I'm suspected directly, indirectly, or not at all. Sounds pretty unreasonable, and unconstitutional to boot, don't it.
open a bank of america account online. its 100% online and snail mail for the card(s). you even have 30 days for the intial deposit, which can be done using the card they mail you. no in-person banking or form signing required.
Spend enough time adminning Microsoft boxes and you'll get pretty pissed when someone tries to take away your right to step out to the sidewalk to have a smoke. or two.
adobe 7 no updates, ff 1.0.3 and xp with most patches works flawlessly for me. with the 'on multiple machines' comment in a subcomment from the parent poster, seems like he might be over b-sing with his/her personal bias for IE (not that its "wrong" per se, but I get into the same loop somtimes).
Just for the record, I have never, ever had firefox crash after return from hibernation. Occasionally I have to wait 10 seconds for the memory cache to catch up directly after bringing my laptop out of hibernate. I boot like this 4+ times per day with firefox open, been doing it since FF 1.0 to current, with no crash issues. Sounds like its your machine, not firefox. As for pdf, the plugin from adobe seems less than optimal and sometimes I get impatient with the long load time.
i dont like the feel of godaddy, it frankly feels like im being spammed the whole time i use the site... check out registerfly.com (thought a bit on the slow real-time-site-response side from florida sometimes)
Nothin tickeld, I just thought itd go well with the general sentiment. You seemed to be talking out of your ass, I talked out of mine. Take a look at the definition of conservative and the definition of liberal, excise the political iterations stuck to them, and THINK about what each means. No sensible person is strictly conservative. No sane person is strictly liberal.
i had the same thoughts but imploding on itself also leaves the largest nuclear arsenal in their hands, so it may end up more of a world ending 'explode' instead of 'implode' (you know, the kind when enough nukes explode in the same area simultaneously to throw the earth off-axis and suck the atmosphere right off it).
The GPL is the one license that always demands that the property stay fully open sourced. Maybe its just me, but thats WAY more open source than the BSD license. The GPL curbs greed whereas BSD has a tendency to reinforce it (how much BSD licensed software in in MS Windows 95? 98? 2000? XP?).

Although I do have to say, I had the mental capacity and forethought to know that Iraq=WMDs was a lie from the start and had NO doubt that Bush would use that to invade Iraq, to notice that the Bush Administration ignored the idea that terrorism was the number one defense issue and focused on a missle defense system prior to 9/11 (and the day before 9/11 Ashcroft submitted a budget proposal slashing anti-terror operations budgets), to notice that Condeleeza Rice looks like a Klingon when she scrunches her forehead (seriously, im not trying to be mean spirited or anything, she doesnt look bad when shes not visibly stressed), to comprehend that the idea of supporting the troops by buying a yellow sticker instead of advocating bringing-them-home is utterly perposterous and frankly fscking insane, to phsyically see that Bush cannot speak publicly worth a damn, to physically hear Bush say he does not read newspapers or watch tv news b/c he has people filter it for him, to have him talk about steroids in baseball during a STATE OF THE UNION address(WHAT THE FUCK!!!)... I think you see my point...
How the hell could you side with Bush on much of anything?
The scenes in the movie and message is about more than just Michael Moore and straight propoganda.
Btw, please don't use that fat ugly m-f'er michael moore and his propoganda movies as a statement or representative of the DNC, he sided with Wesley Clark for president in the primaries for the love of all that is holy. And the repubs have their O'Reilly, Coulter, Limbaughs, and the Libs have their ultra gun nuts, and the Greens have thier tree huggin hippies, and every party has their nutjob sides, dont use just the nutjobs as the excuse to throw mud at a political party.
The movie was both immensely entertaining and moving at the same time, even regardless of right wing get-the-facts campaigns against it (hey, that sounds familiar... I mean windows is more secure than linux, right?...)
even better would be having them both configure the systems any way they wanted to but only using MS Knowledge base vs. How-To articles, even then I'd put my money on the nix box, i've had way more security related information gleamed from plain speak howto's vs way too much tech turned marketing speak from mskb's.

To be fair, Democrats didn't coin the idea of blocking presidential judicial nominations.

"11." should be
11. Blantantly, obviously, openly, lying to start wars.
sounds like a plan, im in.
it sounds like a good platform for testing tidal generators, solar panels, AND that kite based wind generation technique...

Have you read what the *IRS* considers a contractor?
Its an extremely fine line, country wide, and all of the contracting jobs I've had take leaps over that line.

You also agree to mod it up, using any and all mod points that you currently have.
Holy crap, it worked.
God help the John Smiths of the world.
