The rules might not have been followed that well before the crisis, but the authorities are now much keener on enforcing the law and finding companies that abuse those rules.
Tt's cute that you talk about a topic which obviously you have never deal with.

And the only way to control costs is central planning, which is.... socialistic.
I thought the only way to control costs was to ensure healthy competition, freedom of choice and fight inefficiencies. How is central planning efficient?
Don't get me wrong, I think Mac OS X is a great OS. And I use it. On "PC hardware" actually (whatever that means... because really it's the same, except for the SMC chip). I don't think I mentioned anything about their software, which is what your post is about. I mention their hardware. +$500 for a RAM upgrade when the same component can be bought for +$150 is killing me. Yes it is. That's just raping my ass. No matter how good the OS is.
I won't lie: I enjoy GPS/maps, it's very convenient. And the device is kind of nice to use. Email, I could live without.
In any case, it's not worth giving $100/mo to ATT (esp. with their poor service).
Also, I do enjoy my Mac OS X with 8GB and a dual-Xeon. No, I don't fart $100 bills. It's a virtual machine on top of Linux. Apple products are neat. Just not worth the money (and the walled garden is scary too, if indeed this patent is used to report jailbroken phones, which has yet to be proven).
In the end their purpose is to sell the product. That's why listening to consumers matters.
The only way I'm buying SSDs is if they become dramatically more affordable ($/GB). And I tend to think most people would agree. I'm not exactly asking for free stuff here, just helping those guys understand what matters. And I couldn't care less about a postage stamp SSD. I don't need that kind of speed at that price in my phone or my fridge. I want a fast disk for my workstation/server. And unless I have $1M to spend on a RAID array of 1024 SSDs the size of a postage stamp, I'm not going to mind if they're 3"1/2.
Orkut is #1 is Brazil. Not a failure at all.
I've tried it. Came back to the web based client. Within 2 minutes.
Seriously. How can the US lag behind Europe, Japan, Korea, etc.
My parallel programming professor likes to harp on the fact that nearly all new computers in the future will be multicore. Apparently he's right.
That would work if all programmers in the future were parallel programmers.
but she wasn't impressed with the balls
you don't say...

You obviously don't know the restrictions to H1B hires:
http://www.immihelp.com/visas/h1b/h1b-visa-requirements.html (site dedicated to migrants from India but it applies to everyone)
The rules are here. They're (very) restrictive. I'm not saying they work 100% right. But it's not a free for all to hire cheap labor either... at all.

Go ahead guys.
Universal health care is a good thing when costs are under control. It's not socialist. Get over it.
I assume that profit is "revenue - operational cost", i.e. "advertising - server farm".
That's very different from "getting your money back".
Better than the previous generation. Worse than their non-mobile counterparts.

Remove the bloatware too!
Try to remove that huge apple that says "I overpay my hardware" with WD40...
you can't even post a link to a live video on YouTube of a song you just bought
If you bought it, it's likely that you needed to. Sending a link to copyrighted material is probably not what Apple wants.
the researchers found that women who sit more than 6 hours a day were 37 percent more likely to die than those who sit less than 3 hours
ORLY?
I thought the two groups were equally certain to die...

... viewing that video requires Flash. If the purpose is to avoid Adobe Flash (as I do) the least they could have done is post it as WebM.
hopefully it'll work in Firefox too? I mean, Iceweasel?
Is it something in a past or future version of iOS?
I learnt my lesson... bought an iPhone 2 years ago... it will be my last Apple product. Ever.
THEN it will be a conspiracy (albeit an expensive one).
