    The rules might not have been followed that well before the crisis, but the authorities are now much keener on enforcing the law and finding companies that abuse those rules.

    You obviously don't know the restrictions to H1B hires:
    http://www.immihelp.com/visas/h1b/h1b-visa-requirements.html (site dedicated to migrants from India but it applies to everyone)

    The rules are here. They're (very) restrictive. I'm not saying they work 100% right. But it's not a free for all to hire cheap labor either... at all.

    That's very different from "getting your money back".

    Don't get me wrong, I think Mac OS X is a great OS. And I use it. On "PC hardware" actually (whatever that means... because really it's the same, except for the SMC chip). I don't think I mentioned anything about their software, which is what your post is about. I mention their hardware. +$500 for a RAM upgrade when the same component can be bought for +$150 is killing me. Yes it is. That's just raping my ass. No matter how good the OS is.

    If you bought it, it's likely that you needed to. Sending a link to copyrighted material is probably not what Apple wants.

    I won't lie: I enjoy GPS/maps, it's very convenient. And the device is kind of nice to use. Email, I could live without.

    In any case, it's not worth giving $100/mo to ATT (esp. with their poor service).


    Also, I do enjoy my Mac OS X with 8GB and a dual-Xeon. No, I don't fart $100 bills. It's a virtual machine on top of Linux. Apple products are neat. Just not worth the money (and the walled garden is scary too, if indeed this patent is used to report jailbroken phones, which has yet to be proven).

    In the end their purpose is to sell the product. That's why listening to consumers matters.

    The only way I'm buying SSDs is if they become dramatically more affordable ($/GB). And I tend to think most people would agree. I'm not exactly asking for free stuff here, just helping those guys understand what matters. And I couldn't care less about a postage stamp SSD. I don't need that kind of speed at that price in my phone or my fridge. I want a fast disk for my workstation/server. And unless I have $1M to spend on a RAID array of 1024 SSDs the size of a postage stamp, I'm not going to mind if they're 3"1/2.
