  1. Damp Countries = Degrading trainers on Biodegradable Sneakers Sprout Flowers When Planted · · Score: 1

I love the idea but living in the rather rainy North of the UK I can't imagine it would be a very good idea to have shoe that start to degrade in a damp environment.

  2. Better than Steam on EA Introduces "Online Pass" To Get In On Used Games Market · · Score: 2, Insightful

This sure beats the Steam method where buyers of used games are totally locked out, in the case of modern warfare can only be activated by one steam account and only one. They wont even unlock it even if you have the physical copy and a receipt from Amazon marketplace.

I once installed a distro of Mandrake which totalled my cd rom so I would say linux does have problems with hardware.
Before you start saying Apple has control over the hardware you should check out how much kit just plug and plays (and not in the windows plug and pray sense) on Macs, the Apple developers have spent a long time making all sort of dievices just work.

In the same way modern coders learn "modern" langauges like Visual C#.net Java so you they can go and learn older langauge. I had to learn business basic when I joined a company it was a bit different having to use the most unforgiving editors and limited syntax but clearly within the reach of most programmers.
Also while there are probably less than 100 throughbred basic programmers in the UK if we really want software developed there are massive software houses in India full coders with cobol basic and a variety of other languague skills.
