    The source code of Doom was released a long time ago.
    Wouldn't it be sweet if Stencil Shadows were implemented, just like it was in Quake 1?

    God, I am felling weird again. Just like in the old times of Doom 2...

    And going farther, if there is any Tolkien Fan who reads /. AND lives in Recife, I'll see you at the Multiplex Tacaruna Line Party. For the ones who live in the South Zone, there is one party at the Multiplex Recife.

    I'll be there dressed as a Dark Night (No, this is not a joke. I did the same Jan, 1st, in the release of Fellowship Of the Ring.)

    I wonder what part of the book will be sniped now. You all (who read) remember that Tom Bombadil was cirurgically removed from the FotR. I have no concerns about this, indded, I am very thankful. I almost stopped reading because of the stupiduty of such a character. But having read The Hobbit before made me proceed.

    The part of Merry/Pippin and Treebeard is not as boring (and nonsense) as the Bombadil's, but is is the slowest part of the whole TTT. And even being huge, there's no scenes of it in this "new" trailer.

    So, what should I wait, and what I shoudn't? Either way, it will be great to discover.

    Yeah, maybe.

    Just like the concept "Is is never pathetic enough" that made someone think about those cases that looks like cats and dogs (respectivelly labeled "Kitty" and "Doggy").

    But, what the hell, The Sims sold more than 6,3 million copies. There IS market for things like that.

    I particularly prefer black cases.

    There are some wrappers for GPG, which is solely a command line utility. The Windows Privacy Tray is quite good.

    Recently, I built an installer for WinPT 0.7.91 and GnuPG 1.2.0. Hopefully it is a much better approach to GnuPG than GnuPG alone, and almost as good as PGP itself for the newbies.

    It can be found here (sig here). These links are a courtesy of Stephan Frye who apparently has a lot more bandwidth than me.

    I am sorry to bring you to the real world, but our program against AIDS, which distributes medicine for free, and ignores the patent laws for these medicines is a pioneer.

    Even the US backed up his case due to the international pressure. (This happened in time when US used to listen to the international community).

    You can say that about the debts, but better dig some info before talking about AIDS in BRA.

    The Ballot machines used in Brazil use a floppy for storage somewhere in the process. This is certainly as safe as using a pencil. right? ;-)

    Yes, it is, but the storage system also includes 2 flash cards and a printer. Just a printer would be as safe as a pencil, all other medias assure an even larger safety.

    In the Bazilian's largest election ever done the numbers are impressive:

    - 115.254.113 people are expected to vote;
    - 6 candidates for president;
    - 218 for governors in all the 26 federation states;
    - 349 for the senate;
    - 18.880 candidates in total.

    The profile (impartial) of the candidates to the presidence are as follows:

    - Lula (Luiz Inácio): industry worker, sindicalist, oposition;
    - José Serra: candidate of the current government, ex-ministry, situation;
    - Anthony Garotinho: ex-governor of Rio, oposition;
    - Ciro Gomes: moderate oposition;
    - Zé Maria: worker, revolutionary, ultra oposition;
    - Rui Costa: worker, revolutionary, ultra oposition.

    Interesting data:
    - The digital signatures of all softwares used in the ballot are avaible to the public.
    - The UNICAMP's final report about the voting system is also avaible.

    - CPU: Geode National - 166 media GX.
    - RAM: starting at 32 MB in motherboard, DIMM modules 168 pins.
    - USB: 2 onboard.

    I don't like my computer sounding like it's about to lift off.

    I believe that if the medicine doesn't causes PAIN, then it doesn't work. So the noisier the computer, the faster it is.

    The day my network sounds like a 500kV electric transmission line during a rainy day will be they day I'll say "Wow, now /. is loading fast!"

    Brazies, if your are going to translate our anthem for the gringos, try at least to translate it to contemporary portuguese, first. Here we go:

    Globo TV (Brazil) paid R$130 million, aprox. U$48 million for the exclusive right of transmition. Until the finals it had R$300 millions back in revenues and advertisement. I don't know how's their status right now.

    The games were between 03:00 and 09:00. And they broke the record of audience in every transmition, with average 80% of audience.

    The drawback to all brazilians: we had to watch the games with the narrative of the nasty Galvão Bueno.

    Shite.

    I didn't know that there were other BraSilian /.ters. In 5 years of /. I knew only 3 "brazucas", and NONE from their posts, but from RL.

    In fact, I am pretty impressed that that this kind of new showed here. Maybe the fact that the yakees had their best World Cup helped.

    The most beautiful of the whole thing is the ideal of "FIFA Fair Play". No morons!

    Also, you call them "Germany".
    We call them "Alemanha".
    They call themselves "Deutchland".

    Anyway, thanks to the one who wrote "Brasil". It is often silly for a Brazilian to see the writing "Brazil".

    But what was up with those announcers???

    Now, a chance to get my karma back. (Probably burned it in the last post).

    There was a moment TV showed a banner in the audience: It was in english, and read "God is Brazilian". This a very famous quote here.

    Another one, this time in portuguese, the coach and the team showed to the audience read "Obrigado pelo carinho!", translated: "Thank you, Brazil, for your cherish!".

    Other banners:

    "Gaviões da Fiel" -> "Faithful Hawk": An organized group of enthusiasts of the brazilian team Corinthians.

    "Pentacampeão" -> "Five-times Champion".
    I don't remember other announcements, but if someone does, put them here so I can explain what they mean.

    I must admit, I NEVER though this team would go so far! I was one of the 170 million coaches Brazil have and one of the 150 million who doubted this team would even participate the World Cup!

    Thank God, I was wrong!!!

    Sorry folks, burn my karma, kill me, but you can never deny that we are the only country that has won the Cup 5 times! (We where the only who had won 4 times, too, but now, this is old story!) =)

    England may have invented the football (soccer sucks), but Brazil adopted it as a religion!
