The problem with Uber is a corporation who's revenue model is built by taking pay and benefits way from the lowest link (the driver) and burdening them with expenses (their own car) and all liability all the while attempting to side step protections and taxes put in place by local governments.

In "disrupting" the online monitization stream, FaceBook has killed thousands of news papers and millions of jobs. Jobs where highly intelligent and educated people like editors and fact checker ensured what was printed and read by millions of others was accurate and fact based... all surrendered so we can have immediate gratification of "like" and Presidents who prefer to tweet instead of think.

    THe problem is COST.
Energy required for flight is orders of magnitude greater for flight. Add insurance... what will GEICO charge you for a "flying car" to cover potential property damage to anything you may happen to fly over?
I hate when practicality kills a cool dream, but with the risk, liability and costs, these won't be in every garage. And by the way, we've had flying cars that worked rather well since the 60's... but again, costs.

Survival happens then the plan lands ungracefully at a landing speed, or (c) 150mph. Forced landings ie:, a plane hits something and is forced to turn around, or an in flight failure forces a landing. This is when survival happens.
Assuming a hyperloop cruses at 700 mph or 25% faster, the notion of survive ability of virtually any crash, regardless of how the system is engineered, is ludicrous
