The new "Star Trek: Nemesis" trailer runs 1:34 and will also play in theaters, starting with the July 4th weekend. The official "Star Trek: Nemesis" movie site will give fans plenty to whet their appetites, with stunning imagery from the film, a 360-degree IPIX view of the Romulan Senate set
The ONLY way to stop this is to install a filter between the Trunk, actually, the spigot(sp) (that's what your cable line plugs into) and the point of entry to your home...
Doing this to ALL cable modem subscribers would be a pretty big task... I think you have time...
Either way though... who want's "Basic" cable... I don't know about the U.S., but here in Canada, it is often reffered to as Trailer Vision... 22 channels... Yuck!
Actually, it was a joke. But hey, whatever floats yer boat... Personally, I like drinking, I like (read need) coffee, and one wife is more than enough for me.
You mormons are strange... Oh, and that book? It's a fake.;-)
I don't think I ever booted into anything BUT c64 mode after the first day I had my 128. Mmmm... F16 Combat Pilot... and let's not forget Montezuma's Revenge!
Firestone announces it will be donating surplus "Wilderness XT" tires to Afghanistan's Northern Alliance, as well as any Goodyear employee involved in R&D or Marketing.
Well, I think you are forgetting that probably ~90% of those kids will NEVER use a computer for anything other than e-mail and web surfing. In a programming class - Linux all the way, but when trying to teach kids PRACTICAL skills, then Windows, MSO, and IE are what they should be learning. I don't like it any more than you, and I am NOT an MS appologist, but I am a realist, and reality (unfortunatly) is currently windows-centric.
Fantastic Idea, but with the amount of Windows boxen out there... is it ok to be teaching kids to use Linux? I mean really... how many of them are going to run into that platform in the workplace...
I am sure to be modded down for trolling, but I think this is a valid point.
"We have built a nanoscale computer made of biomolecules that is so small you cannot run them one at a time. When a trillion computers run together they are capable of performing a billion operations,"
I am no scientist... but a trillion of these can perform a billion operations? is this correct? can someone explain WHY it takes 1000 computers per operation?
"but for many people, and even in aisle signs in hardware stores, Plexiglass = Lexan"
These "people" you refer to must be pretty dense. Lexan is nothing like plexiglass. Wanna test that theory? just sit behind a 1" thick piece of plexi and have a friend fire a.40cal round at it. If you survive, try it again with Lexan. You will see the difference, trust me.
We have 5 of the 75GB drives here at my office... so-far, 3 have died loud and terrible deaths. Not a great average... However, when they are working (knock on wood) they are sweet.
Oddly enough, we keep getting the same 80GB Maxtor drive as a temp replacement from our dealer, and last time it came here it was full of Porn, DiVX, and MP3's.
Seriously, though... I watched the 2 hour premier last night, and I will say this - It was pretty darn good. They have done an excellent job of "dumbing down" the technology, and the cast is pretty interesting. Combine that with the promis of some good-ol space violence, and you've got a winner.
Wow... the IS a use for IPIX
SO give me a high bitrate MP3... 128Kbit is not an acceptable quality at a buck a song.
There is NO reason for a lower quality sound file (MP3, ogg, PCM, whatever). Give me a great quality copy, and I'll gladly give you my $0.99 per song.
Not bloody likely though...

check out Non-Elephant. Gotta love that one-time pad model...
These guys have some interesting tech revolving around semantic search... worth a boo anyway...

;-)

We should meet for Coffee to discuss this... oh, wait... how about beer? ... oh, yeah... Well, maybe we could just go dancing... Doh!
Hmmm... Tell ya what, I'll talk to yer sister/wife and set up an appointment.

Ahhh... never thought of it that way... Interesting.

Off topic? Fuck, some of you moderators are stupid.
...is a disposable OS! Oh, wait... we already have one... hmmm.
.3Mpix though... not really very good now is it... I wonder if these will fly outside of the tech-hungry Japanese market?

What about all the Porn sites that do this... I sure could use the FCC's help there :)
Well, it is a start I guess...
Naked Chicks!
Really though... I think this is just the first step towards full-scale Comercials popping up every 13 min. Yikes, hope M$ doesn't think of that...
"A" Channel in Calgary :)
Wierd that City is showing it tonight, yet Space is premiering it on Saturday... Same owner I believe (CHUM-City)
Wow, we got something first!

Seems to me that a marketing ploy like this will not work against a marketing giant like Intel...
Intel will simply exploit the fact that the Athlon "1600" is not a 1600Mhz chip.
The average consumer(read non-slashdotter) will see the "True" 2000 beside the Athlon "1600" and will obviously go for the higher numbered chip.
Apple has tried to educate the consumer about the reality of clock speed, and they failed. What makes AMD think they can achieve a different result?
And I'll thank them for you!
I am already paying for Content. I pay my ISP.
Just ike I pay my cable Co. for the content they provide access to.
