I've started and run @ neg. 11 this past winter. No problems at all...
Also the T belt on many new cars is close to a $500 service. They are just very tough to get to. Not like my good ol' 83 GTI. That took me half an hour tops.
I have had my VW Golf TDI for one year now, and I am going in for my 20k service this morning. I am really impressed with the mileage. It uses less fuel, needs no tune-ups, is more efficent, and will last twice as long as a gas engine. VW is also producing a 150 hp TDI with 250 lb ft. for all the diesel naysayers. It really is the best choice for the enviroment. ...my car is also Abt/Yokohama/Koni/H&R kitted, which makes it a bit more fun:)
I used to run home every day and watch those channels! Can you imagine the bizarre twist of fate now being married to the daughter of the man who sang the music for Mazinger (Tranzor) and Captain Harlock. Not long ago he got me a cool autographed picture for Nagai Go of Mazinkaiser. I have so many Mazinger toys I have no room to put them in the new house we just bought!
Never grow up, life is too short to stop enjoying the things that made you happy as a child.
Don't get me started on those bastards @Saban. They steal everything. I know the executive producer at TOEI, the man responsible for all the Kamen Rider and Ranger shows. Nicest guy in the world. Saban totally f**ked him over. He ended up retiring from TOEI.
Saban has made millions by absolutely bastardizing (is that even a word???) everything that has come out of Toei Studios. Too bad for him Yoshikawa-san has retired. No one to rip off anymore. I wonder how many times Saban can recycle the same cut scenes...
Star Blazers / Uchuu Senkan Yamato is, in my opinion, much better. The original story was quite good. If you want to be surprised watch the original Japanese version and check out all the Japanese nationalist stuff that was edited out in the US.
There have been far too many re-iterations of SB already. There are about seven movies, which got so bad that even Japanese fans re-named movie no.4 "Be Forever Yamato (the Argo's Japanese name)" as "Drag on Forever Yamato". Seems Reiji Matsumoto and crew would destroy the ship and kill off the crew just to have them spontaniously re-generate for another go-around.
The last movie I know of I saw on a shelf in Japan...this one was in a totally different style and had SMAP doing the voice acting...sad.
The only good stuff to come back is DevilMan, Mazinger, and GetaRobo.
Battle of the Planets (Gatchaman) has come back. there are several video episodes made not long ago. My father in law sang on those as well, so I got them free...Unfortunatley the original was edited down so much for the US. Apparently there was a lot of violence...didn't harm the Japanese too much though *grin*.

I love old Japanaese Anime. As fate would have it I married the daughter of Mizuki Ichirou, who sang the music for Captain Harlock and Great Mazinger, among countless others. Fortunately I get to re-live the nostalgia almost daily.
Have to agree here. Removing meat from the diet is ultimately a mistake. I too have a co-worker who broke her ankle by merely stumbling. Took her far too long to recover. You are just missing too many nutrients that are needed by our omviorius metabolism. I have been weight training / bodybuilding for 15 years now, 3 months of which I tried to go meatless. My strength and recovery ability were nearly halved. Stamina went way, way down. When I eat meat regularly I am noticably stronger. From a personal point of view, I found vegatarianism unsuccesfull. I have also yet to meet a vegan who exhibits the same strength and anerobic muscular stamina of a meat-eater. The protiens and amino acid ratios are incomplete, even with carefull blending. The amino peptide chains are not as easily assimilated and metabolised. There is no other source for creatine, crucial for ATP and mitochondrial energy. There are too many macro and micronutrients in meat that are still not fully understood to try to match the ratios and nutrients otherwise. I just wish there was a nice high protein, high fat, no carb nutrient bar that didn't cost $3.
In Japan car GPS's had problems. Apparently all the major auto GPS manufacturers (and there are many, especially Add/Zest) contacted their customers about free upgrades..but few responded.
I played the Dreamcast in Japan back in June and it was *very* nice but....the PS2 should blow it away from what I am hearing. Sony also has a stranglehold on the game developers in Japan and I am sure that will translate into the US market as well. The Dreamcast has done extraordinarily well in the Japanese market however. Remember too that it is now well over a year old.
I once heard Lucas say that he considers his movies "silent moves" he feels dialouge is unimportant in the way he visualizes things. This may explain the poor dialouge. It is entirely possible to imagine watching all the SW movies without any dialouge at all. One must also consider that Lucas' idol was Kurosawa Akira, (as per Lucas' heavy borrowing from "The Fortress") a man who used little and sometimes no dilouge in his movies. Kurosawa always left the viewer to interpret though images. Speaking as one who does understand the Japanese spoken in Kurosawa's movies, language is vastly secondary to the imagery.
I was 8 when the first movie came out and I can still remember it had its fair share of hype. I recall the Wonderbread trading cards the most. I didn't even like WB, but I made my mom buy it. I had all the toys. Because I wanted them. because it was fun. 20+ years later I am still buying toys...because I want to. Because it is fun. SW has always been about fun. Lucas never intended to be an "artistic" filmaker. SW is about fun and enjoyment, and to some, like me even the hype can be enjoyable. I watch the trailers over and over and still get excited. I bought a ton of toys. My wife (bless her) even *encourages* me to buy toys because she says I look like a happy little boy when I buy them ( I am a 30 year old 5'7 215 pund Bodybuilder-Sys Admin). Some of the hype is sill...ie Darth Maul underwear....but werent' there Darth Vader Underoos at some point??? Besides some kid will get his mom to buy them for him and he will be *happy*. It is all about kids being happy. No matter how old we are. And George...thank you for making me happy for more than 2 decades....I suppose the only thing that makes me stop for a moment is how people who would have never have admitted being fans of SW 20 years ago are now suddenly die-hard fans. I guess I lost one of my vestigal childhood geek-prides....I can see the effect of mass hype there.
I have been running the two together for a week or so with no problems at all. No tweaks, no problems or esoteric reconfiguring whatsoever. I will download the RPMs anywho as it prolly won't hurt.

I was refering to it in a non-electric hybrid sense. The Lupo TDI has a smaller, more advanced engine than we have here in the states.
How about 90 mpg in the Europe-only Lupo TDI? With no electric generator. What a great city commuter.

Oh gawd you're right. At least SMAP grew up on the stuff...

StarVengers (GetaRobo) was very good. I had a think for GaiKing though....
Most of my friends seemed to like Grandizer the best.

If they take off Lexx I'll KILL them...

Funny, I don't recall there being a United States of America in 1499.... The PRC is about as squeaky clean as an Owl's Diapers.

Only Japanese mix "L" and "R". And this kind of thing happens all the time in Korea.
