There will always be proprietary software. Now, do you mean proprietary software as in any software, or do you mean proprietary software as in the Linux kernel as software?
It never will be, untill the current culture of 'software freedom' changes. Of course, there are those that don't ever want Joe User to use Linux, and those people will always stand in the way of progress toward people dumping Microsoft for a saner solution. Comically, those that stand in the way of Linux distros for Joe User are the same idiots who bitch about Microsoft Windows (choose your flavor).
"The question still remains, does it make any sense to pay that much for a phone that is still locked to AT&T's network even if you aren't bound to a contract?"
Even a penny would be too much to pay for a locked phone.
Yes, I remember. Ahhh, the halcyon days when Slashdot headlines were 100 percent relevent to nerds, and every post was full of knowledge and wisdom. Yes, I remember those days well.
The United States as an governing entity has become rotten. No matter who is President, who the congressmen are, and who is in the senate, nothing will change. I've become convinced that the real power is hidden away from prying eyes, and their agenda will be unknown untill it comes into full fruition. Unfortunately, it's not only a problem in the United States, but with governments all over the world. Regularly so-called 'leaders', business magnates, lobbyists, and media get together 'behind closed doors', such as Bohemian Grove (you don't think those guys just sit around fishing and playing Gin, do you?), discuss and make policy without concern for what the people want.
If you are not in the United States, and believe your country doesn't participate, or is blameless, then you are part of the problem.

Yeah, like those guys couldn't just go to scifi.com, and read the fucking forums there.
Stop calling it 'intellectual property', and refer to things with the proper terms such as patents, copyrights, and trademarks. That way the proper law can be applied instead of the pile of Neverland crap called 'intellectual property'.
"If only it could be as good as Star Wars: Galaxies..." before the NGE.
There, fixed that for you.
KOTOR:NGE to make it more Star Warsy and iconic.

Oh, yeah. Screw GNU, I'm talkin bout Linux.
The best tool for every job is a hammer. Everything else is a nail.
Joe User doesn't give a flying fuck about 'software freedom'. They just want everything to work.
"meaning that there should be a purist distribution for anyone who wants to be purist."
Would that be Slack or Debian?
I'd also have to call bs due to the lack of heat thing. Untill I see it for myself.
The 'coupon' you can get that covers 40 bucks of the price expires. Sometimes before people can actally find a converter box.
Originally, I was going for dark political satire.
Well then, looks like my life is complete. I can die happy now.

We need to bomb those fuckers back into the stone age. Shouldn't take that long to move them from the mideavel(sp) age.
Put each view in it's own .txt file. Let Viacom sort through the trillions of files.
This is assinine. It's like requiring a mechanic to have a private investigator license.
Chisel what you want to keep onto stone tablets, or use clay tablets then encase them in a clay envelope. Then bury them in a pit in your back yard.
The tallest blades must be cut back so they don't shade the shorter blades from the nurturing light of the sun.
So it also is with children.

Tin whiskers cause failures, and failures are good for business if you are in the troubleshooting/repair field.
It's your finger that sounds twitchy. Please don't try to project your own failings on others, thanks in advance.

On the Phantom, no less.

Yeah, your right. I'm an idiot for thinking hardware should be developed on what is in use. My bad.
Shit, fuck!
