It's a shame all of them just look like bad ripoff's of what windows has had for a while. And the one designed by Eugenia at osnews is just retarded. File selectors should be longer horizontally since file names can be long. Having something that is taller than it is long is just dumb, there just isn't a polite way to say it.
I might switch from blackbox for a while and try out fvwm. Hopefully its easy to make it look nice like those screenshots. I hate it when you see nice screenshots only to later realize its nearly impossible to make a wm look like that.
While opera allows you to use one of many pre-defined searches through a variety of means (including typing "g " + subject into the address bar), adding any search would be a powerful and useful ability.
IE has done this since around version 4 with an (albeit not well advertised) addon from microsoft.
that thinks mars looks kinda boring? It really just looks like desert or something. It would be nice if the photo's were color so you could get some feeling of what it really looks like. On the plus side, maybe Nasa will get a picture of that Beagle rover that crashed or whatever.
EE is without a doubt one of the most fun RTS games I've ever played. Start off in the prehistoric era and finish up in postmodern nanotechnological warfare. The fact that the maps can be truly gigantic makes for some neat changes in strategy (even modern aircraft need refueling, etc).
I agree, empire earth is by far my favorite game. It's one of the few games I can stand to play single player, and the multiplayer is excellent.
52x Max (above might have been using a slow model) Hard Drive : Usually around 7200x
These aren't comparable measurements at all.. The x in cdrom speeds is how many times faster it is than the original "1x" cdroms, and harddrive speed isn't measured in X's at all its in revolution's. You can't just add an X to the end of a harddrive speed and expect to compare it to a cdrom drive.

Only at/. would a comment about a Stephenson book get modded up in response to a review about a totally different book by a different author.
So yes, you can steal an "mp3". For example, if an author sells tracks for 0.99$ and you listen to it then the mp3 is worth 0.99$ to you. Just because you haven't paid for it yet doesn't mean it has no value.
No, you flunk econ 101, if it sells for $0.99 and you aren't willing to pay that and instead steal it, it is certainly not worth $0.99$ to you.
Yeh, one of my favorite books as a child was a similar book that had several outdoor survival type projects and also several plans for rudimentary firearms.
Where does everyone get these free/ dirt cheap p200 class laptops? The only laptop I ever got for free was a broken p133 and I had to trade a semester worth of cobol homework assignments for it.
Honestly not trying to troll here, but both kde and gnome, as they are installed by most popular distros atleast, suck. I've seen a lot of linux systems that boot into windows faster than they boot linux and start up gnome or kde.
KDE and Gnome are not good examples to use if you are against bloat of any kind. It'd seem wiser, albeit harder, to take a simpler window/desktop manager and build upon it to make something that was halfway useable and consistant in design.
There's a prison where people get to pound you in the ass? Uh.. I'm not touching this one with a 5 foot pole, or any pole let alone any pole I'd have my hands on...
You obviously aren't a true geek, otherwise you'd catch the office space reference.
Will the shortcuts on the left side (home, etc) be configurable? That would be one way to beat the crap out of Windows once again.
The shortcuts on the left side in the windows file selector are configurable.

You think Indian outsourcing is bad.. just wait for Martian outsourcing..
Mockapetris sounds like some weird varient of tetris.
Now they just need to figure out who is going to take the soapy water outside and apply it all of the seams to find the leak.

By any chance does anyone know someone at Stainless Steel? I'd really like to get a job there
Heh.. who wouldn't? Judging by your website, you might actually have a shot though.. Why not just make your own game?

if its naturally aspirated, its not fuel injected..
US reply: "Mars is not a 'petrol' station for wayward probes. We don't want to encourage martian tourism."
ROFL
Why can't they just buddy up to NASA and have them send the mars rover out looking for it?

Mac's work differently.. they use openfirmware.
Games for linux? What's next? Games for Macs?

MySQL needs to finish cloning the functionality of those rdbms's like Oracle before they start adding crazy features with limited utility.

Just use the run program as another user option and let the game run as administrator.
