    Nope... this holiday season I’ll be doing all of my flying going 70 MPH down the freeway, where the only time I’ll have to sacrifice my 4th Amendment rights is if some cop who’s high on his sense of authority demands I prove I’m not intoxicated in the commoner sense.

    Normally, yeah, I’d call this self-defeating, but you can’t opt out of the scanner in the UK.

    If you’re concerned about the radiation from the scanner and you’re traveling (or should I say travelling) in the UK, would this be a viable option to prevent your gonads from getting irradiated at the cost of a more uncomfortable exam?

    (Personally my issue with the scanner isn’t the radiation, but for some people it is.)

    Is somebody in Kansas City seriously going to consider a drive to Atlanta or Cleveland, or will they just stay home for Thanksgiving and decide that 15 minutes on Skype will have to be good enough?

    I don’t know, but I’ve done Kansas City to Tucson a good number of times in my lifetime.

    Not even to mention the fact that undistorting the images again is just about as trivial as distorting them. Or just hack the software to get the image before it’s distorted.

    So your saying that a Terrorist who is willing to kill your kids and himself would never- ever- take someone else's kids, pack them with explosives and pass them off as his own kid in the airport when trying to get on a plane to blow it up over a crowded city?

    I am saying that only once we make every child submit to a full cavity search will we be safe. And the terrorists will have won.
