I did take a look at your pages, after the slashdotting subsided. The Please do NOT link us slashdot plea is not really visible, unless you know where to look for it. Also, you should know by now that most people who submit links to slashdot don't bother to read articles, so expecting them to read a plea is not very realistic:).
.. to see whether google releases more details of the implementation of the search algorithm it uses. That would be an easy way to prove to the courts that google did not intentionally bias the ranking procedure, and will also provide us with details on how they rank search results.:)
OGG support will not be beneficial to sales. The typical buyer doesn't give a rat's ass whether a player plays OGG files or not. All s/he cares about is how little effort it takes to get it to work with his/her home setup. And unfortunately, WMA and MP3 require minimal effort.
Its just a suggestion about how to emulate the effect of the clutch assist feature. The SMG is a pretty amazing piece of equipment, but this certainly does NOT qualify as an easter egg - its like saying jmp fff0:f000 was an easter egg in DOS.
Last time I checked, he was trying to be funny - as is evident from his "Score 3: Funny". Stop looking for excuses to throw around multisyllabic words.
Like the article says, there are no real practical uses for this. All that you get out of it is a long sequence of ATGCs which are pretty useless. I say useless because genes only show a predisposition towards certain diseases, but do not guarantee actually GETTING the disease. A complete health checkup would probably accomplish the same, at a drastically lower cost.
I took a cognitive science class where every student had to come up with 2 "intelligent questions" every class. After a few weeks, it was pretty simple to create vacuous questions which sounded deep. Seems like this is what the/. editors are resorting to:). Just tag on a "linux-support" or "m$ sucks" message to the end of every post.
I _did_ search for that. And this is what I got... Searched the web for aa ae ao ea ee eo oa oe oo dork . Results 1 - 3 of about 12. Search took 0.19 seconds.
Since I certainly haven't registered, and I haven't been supplying South Africans, I'm in trouble!

.. preferably with a large Venetian vase that goes thwack every time he makes that weird "I invented the internet" claim?
