If you don't like the law, change it. I you like your freedom, don't commit the crime. If you're a "hactivist" then you accept the risk as part of your protest.
I would like to add to each piece of legislation, the exact result desired, and automatically repeal any legislation that does not have the desired results. Why should we "fix" legislation that doesn't work? Why should we trust those that can't figure out how to right legislation correctly to go back and "fix" it when it breaks things more than it fixes?
Really? They spent 250-500 MILLION dollars on the website, and it doesn't fucking WORK. That kind of money goes to two places, first pay off donors to campaigns, and second to pay for people to form a committee to design this turd. It wasn't built to work, it was build to pay people back, and the rest is government incompetence, all the while marching us down the path to Single Payer which is the stated goal of every one of the Democrat Leaders that were in charge of this piece of shit.
It isn't a straw man, it is FACTUAL. Otherwise, you're gonna have to "educate me" on how Government is helping here by limiting choice (from the "choice" crowd no less), raising regulations, and then blaming people for reacting negatively to it all when it doesn't work out anywhere close to how it was supposed to work.
Anything three people can do well, takes the government thousands of people and millions of dollars to really fuck it up. And people believe that government is and will be our savior.
How does my description of "A bunch of colored dots in a vague pattern that resembles nothing I can think of" help? I suck at these things, because I'm not built in a way that sees patterns where there is none. Google's Image today is a great example, I don't see ANYTHING in most of them. They're just vague shapes of nothingness, while my friend just kept saying Boobies. Okay, we know what he is thinking, but me? I'm obviously not thinking about boobies enough:-/
>even though there are paranoid conspiracy nuts who think school administrators just live for coming up with weird and restrictive regulations
I used to think this in high school, after all none really seemed that bright.
later on in life, I just found they were playing dumb just to fool the students, silly me
Actually, I think it is ridiculous reaction to ridiculous parents making ridiculous complaints held up by ridiculous courts who issue ridiculous settlements when cases like this are brought before them.
In short, I blame lawyers. ALL of them. the whole "you can sue anyone for anything" logic lawyers have is what is really fucked up. Deep pockets win every time, even if they loose, they win. Because it becomes MUCH less expensive to simply settle for less than the cost of litigation.
I've always wanted a third "verdict", one that represents a level of contempt by the court for frivolity. It would work like this. You sue, for damages of $100K and the trial happens and the judge/jury ends up saying "this guy had no case" and issues a verdict for the defendant, with "prejudice" (or other word) that would indicate frivolousness of the case. The plaintiff would be responsible for the lessor of the amount of the suit ($100K) or the costs of the lawyer's fees, plus 25%.
Close cases lost by the plaintiff would be exempt. Judge/Jury discretion.
My Samsung GS3 (d2tmo) works fine with Cyanogen, and I have had fewer issues than with the stock. The stock d2tmo wasn't bad, but it had all the T-Mo crap I will never use, since I am not on T-Mo service.
Camera, especially with Focal (app/beta) works great. No issues. I'm currently running CM 10.2 M1 and have a couple "odd" issues, and two random reboots, but generally am happy. I ran CM 10.1 for several months without ANY issues, and I'm sure that once CM 10.2 goes stable, it will be "stable". But it is a good daily driver right now. AND the bonus is, my battery life is way better than the stock ROM. Easily 3 hours more every day (I use my phone a lot)
It isn't entrapment. No solicitation from the "girl" of any sort, implied or explicit. Is it entrapment to leave a car unlocked in a parking lot with a package in it at Christmas time and wait for someone to take it?
This kind of logic leads to "blame the victim" mentality. "She was asking for it, where that short skirt".
Please understand what entrapment is. It includes ENTICING someone to commit a crime they normally wouldn't commit. Normal people would NOT steal a package out of a car, and NORMAL people won't solicit sexual acts to or from a ten year old.
Humans are both "not rational" and "highly rational" often minutes apart from each other. The "not rational" side is almost always emotionally tied "reaction" (fear, happiness, horny) and tied to uncontrolled impulses. The rational side is much more cerebral and happens once a person has gained a good grasp of their emotions.
Some people let their lives be ruled by their emotions, without any forethought into anything "I want _________" and then they rationalize any reason why later. And by rationalize, I have seen humans rationalize some really horrific acts because it gets the results they are looking for.
People who live by acting on their emotions scare the crap out of me.
You're Fired means transfer of authority, you're right. At that moment, Childs should have told SF to pound sand, and walked away. He owes them nothing at that point, including the password. What crime did he commit by not revealing the password?
That is because we are NOT a polite society. We (as a society) aren't well armed. We are not allowed to carry except when the government permits us (a violation of 4th amendment)
And to think, this imaginary person will have a greater effect on Mankind than you'll ever have. That is the true power of magic!
But it only takes ONE TIME!!!!!! OMG !!!!!
But keeping the populace sedated with jack booted thugs is forever.

Not so much, there is always Airplane Mode

It is magic, to most people.

Buzzword bingo anyone?
Anything three people can do well, takes the government thousands of people and millions of dollars to really fuck it up. And people believe that government is and will be our savior.
Hope (and change) springs eternal!

Of course, my favorite line is "Just think about how stupid the 'average'* person is, and then realize that 1/2 the people are more dumb than that"
* Yes, I know that "average" doesn't mean exactly how I use it, but keep in mind, the saying. I have to dumb it down for certain audiences.
Legen ,,,, wait for it ..... dary!

How is that? Explain your logic? Do you even know what entrapment is?
The "picture" to me is right in the "uncanny valley". It doesn't look right.

An individual bad actor is not systemic problem. Bad Actors in a Police State is systemic.

And two well armed people a society doesn't make.
I don't expect a visit. I'm not causing enough problems ... yet.
A well armed society is a polite society.
