    From "Wikipedia"

Postmodernism is a general and wide-ranging term which is applied to many disciplines, including literature, art, economics, philosophy, architecture, fiction, and literary criticism.

Thanks Wikipedia, I think you proved my point. "General and Wide Ranging" ... meaning ... whatever.

I know people who go through 8 years of college and don't know how to math (sic) even simple things. Let alone know anything about science, or any other "hard" subject.

I know Paul, Paul is a liar. You know Paul, you don't know anything except what I've told you. Do you trust me?

Peter, Jane and Mary all claim to know me, and all say I'm a liar. They also say Paul is a good guy. Do you trust me? Do you trust them?

Michael, Greg, Steven and Jill all claim to know me, and say I don't lie, I'm just mistaken by Peter, Jane and Mary. Do you trust me? Do you trust them?

But you realize, what I've done? I've established (within this example) my identity, but not my trust level.

Problem is, that it is just this sort of trading that causes the huge market fluctuations it was designed to avoid. In addition, errant trading has caused BILLIONS of dollars in losses, which in the "TOO BIG TO FAIL" era, means that tax payers foot the bill, for those losses. It creates a place where betting is a win/win situation.

Hyper Liquid markets are not secure, nor do they serve any purpose. I have a fix for this, it is quite easy.

    1) All automatic trades* shall be averaged. The average being the (simple) average trade price for the previous X minutes and the next X minutes (X being appropriate time window). This would clear the timing and automatic trading mechanisms that are basically trading with themselves for the sole purpose of trading among themselves. *Automatic Trades being computer decided and controlled trades, not order based trades. Order Based Trades are normal buying and selling, not automated by computers, and shall have an order recorded authorizing said trade.

    2) Automatic Trading shall be limited to Y percentage of the previous day's trades (Y being set for market making only)

    3) Any Trade needed above Y shall be signed off by an officer of the company, who is responsible for that trade, and subject to a X * 2 averaging for final trade price. Officer will be personally responsible for any illegal trades he/she signed off on.

Authentication is not the same as proof of identity. Authentication is not ID, nor is ID Authentication.

But how does one PROVE who they are? In order to PROVE you are who you are, you need a chain of trusted Identification.

    1) Peter Knows Mary, Peter can ID Mary. But is Peter is not Trusted (yet)
    2) Paul ALSO knows Mary. Paul can also ID Mary, and Paul is trusted.
    3) Jane, Sue and Michael all know Mary. They all can ID Mary, but offer various levels of trust.

In each of these scenarios ID can be established provided if we have enough "trust" secured. 1) Not enough, 2) Maybe Enough, 3) Probably Enough.

THIS is how authentication should work. It is NON trivial for computers and hackers to breach. It is harder than even two factor authentication. Stolen Phone and bam you have two factor authentication done. You cannot steal people (not easily) and you probably cannot steal enough people to make this work.

I rather doubt that any level of COMPUTER authentication is going to be secure in the long run.

Further, your implication is fairly short sighted, in that you assume something isn't a law (or acts like a law) unless a court rules on it. The fact is, most laws (and administrative rulings) are lawful until someone challenges it in a court.

THIS was an administrative hearing which FUNCTIONS much like a court for most intents and purposes. Therefore the ONLY recourse left to VZ is an actual court. And having already been ruled on by an Administrative hearing, the hurdle is much much higher for VZ than normal court case
