I "learned" to code 35-40 years ago, and the only thing I learned was that I wasn't very good at it. By "code" I mean Assembly, COBOL, ForTran, BASIC, Pascal. Telling me to shut up is a reason why Android Market Place is filled with "Beautiful Girl ____" and "App Killer ____" and various other apps that suck and crash my phone (1 in 5 crash).
I never said it would be a success. I just thought it MIGHT be. I would find what I have in mind completely useful, and I've looked for something that does anything even remotely close to what I'm thinking of, and have not found anything. I don't find "Beautiful Girls" anything all that "useful" and charging me $3.34 for pictures of girls that are a dime a dozen on images.google.com seems stupid. Yet the fact that there are 1000s of apps with that (or similar) premise seems ridiculous.
Is it easy coming up with good AND ideas? Not as easy as one might think. I even admitted it might not be a "Great" idea, only that I thought it was. Will it make me a Million$? Probably not. If it makes me couple Franklins, I would be happy.
Sure. Why not? You willing to split 25% (me) -75% (you) revenue? If you are a real Android of iPhone developer, I'll be happy to show you something. I'll even help you test it.
I have a REALLY good idea for an smartphone app, but I'm not a coder. I have not seen anything close to what I'm thinking of. I'm not about to give my idea to someone. My idea is fairly simple, and shouldn't be too difficult to program. However I could be wrong on everything (probably am). I have ideas, just no coding experience.
I don't think so. Apple is probably already working on the "next big thing", well ahead of the curve. iPod is to MP3players what iPhone is to Cellphones. Google was smart in building Android out, however Android is still not iOS smooth. And with fragmentation of the Android market, it is causing problems within the Android Marketplace. Many Apps just don't work with a bunch of devices. Go, read the reviews... "This app ROCKS.. Droid X Froyo", the same app, "This sucks, Eros Froyo" (or visa versa) or whatever. I realize that some(most) of this might be just crappy coding, but still .
And with Android phones, most of which you have to "root" to get upgrades... WTF?
I'm saying this as a Droid X (stock Froyo) owner and I love my phone.
Ports are OFF until I know what is being plugged into them. Then I can apply the right VLAN to them and keep the systems safe that need to be safe.
And if your boss is running PORN and getting Trojans, then you put him on his own VLAN where it cannot hurt you, and you use Citrix client to give him access to protected systems to keep him isolated.
The cost of protecting the network is only thing preventing people from doing it. In many cases, the cost isn't worth it, until it is too late. And that is why it is called "too late"
Universal Health Care Law. Now, you may be all for it, and that is fine. However as it was crafted, and voted upon and passed is nothing short of crap. It will not do what they CLAIM it will do. It will make health care choices more expensive and less available to everyone.
That is one issue. I'm sure I could come up with others.
I've been on fire (literally), and I'm bitterly cold during the winters. The assumption is that one cannot be "on fire" and survive. I'm proof that is not true.
BTW, Stop Drop n Roll doesn't always work. Sometimes it just lights the ground on fire.
Water that is vapor is "water" but we call it STEAM.
Water in its liquid form has no other common name, it is WATER. So, water (liquid H20) is wet, as is most H2O on this planet. Therefore, when people say "water" it is generally speaking of H2O Liquid. When they mean the exceptions (ICE, STEAM) they will refer to it using those terms.
Here's a helpful hint, and I'm being nice in telling you this. People like you should just learn how to STFU, because while trying to sound "smart" you just come across as an asshole trying to sound smart. You come across as really just a stupid moron. Is that what you were aiming for?
If you allow unknown machines on your wireless in your office, you're not properly secure. We have unsecured wireless in our offices, but they are all on a VLAN that can only go out to the iNet.No corporate networks are accessible. And if you need more security than that, multiple firewalls and DMZs and Intrusion Detection Systems.
I'm not a big fan of Al Franken. I'm with him on this one thing. He's dead wrong on too many other things for me to vote for him for anything. Something about a broken clock being right twice a day.
It is worse than this. If you have to drive 7 hours, chances are, you cloud take a plane to your destination for the cost of gas or train ticket, and be there in two hours. That is, if you want to put up with the TSA (Touch Someone's Ass) molesters.
There is no compelling reason to use Train for most trips, except commuter style ones.
No Necessarily a failure of Linux. Probably the best and easiest way to restore functionality of something that has stopped working right, especially in light of the users involved.
Since you don't know why it stopped working (hardware glitch? software glitch?) and since we do not expect Flight Attendants to have CLI experience to restart the sound subsystem (which may not have fixed the problem) then a reboot is simply a simple way to resolve this (and many other) issue(s).
So no, not a failure of Linux, but rather a failure on your part to understand that functionality overrides any technical troubleshooting at that point in time. They want it to work, not figure out why it wasn't. Hit the Reset button.
Its there, just as an Icon next to the "Comments" Header near the top of the page. It looks like a Gear, and has a Magnifying Lens icon next to it. It opens a "light box" where you have access to all the settings.
I discovered it trying to find out where to set the thresholds for downloading/displaying ALL the comments in the thread. Why do I have to click "read 558 more comments" Button a dozen times and still not see every one of those 558 comments? Can someone tell me how to fix this?
Linux isn't dominating desktops. It is dominating in all sorts of other places, often hidden away from the user. It is in all sorts of embedded devices and is now on Smartphones and Tablets, both of which Microsoft doesn't have any real clue about. At least they haven't shown any clue.
My DroidX is a good example of Linux being where Microsoft has no clue. No, it isn't Ubuntu (X/Gnome/KDE) or some other Desktop Linux. It doesn't have to be. But it is Linux just the same. That Nook my friend just bought is Android based, which is Linux. She doesn't know she is running Linux. She doesn't care.
Guess what, Linux is in more places than most people realize.
How does Ballmer still have a job? THAT is my question.
Microsoft had better get out of the "We Do Windows" only mode they've been operating on since... it doesn't matter. They better start building cross OS support into the product strategy or else risk losing everything forever. And the fastest way for that is to fire Ballmer and put in someone with vision of where things are going in 5 years.
If they can't right the ship in a hurry, Microsoft will be stuck in legacy Corporate support mode for the rest of its life.
Microsoft's Problem is that it has become a "me too, but with Windows(tm)" company. It is a "Windows(tm)" company, and almost everything it does revolves around "Windows(tm)".
In the mean time, Linux is storming the "everywhere windows can't go" places. Windows Tablets have tried to exist for at least 7 years, maybe longer. Windows will not ever be a "Tablet" OS. This is why Apple and Android* are killing it in the Phone/Tablet marketplace right now. Both are designed for that platform with industrial size OS underneath that doesn't feel bloated.
*Droid X owner. Looked at iPhone (AT&T Sucks), Palm, Windows, and had a Blackberry before the DX. The Windows phone I saw feels like toys, and acted like a brat. My Droid feels industrial, and acts like work phone and toy. I'm still looking for the killer app** for it, but otherwise am very happy.
** Killer App = something I didn't know I needed, but can't live without.
Lots of people who had access to the info said the exact same thing as Bush. Does that make them all liars? And do you still support those that said the same thing, at the same time?
Um no. "Bush lied, people died" is a catchy phrase.
Well "Clinton lied and bombed a aspirin factory and a lost a stealth plane bombing Serbia, and now China has a Stealth Plane themselves, all to cover up a blowjob".. not so catchy.
You tell me which one is more "evil"? Again, I actually "like" Clinton more than GWB, but that isn't really saying much.
What is funny, is that you think there is substantial difference between (D) and (R), to the point of thinking one is less dangerous than the other. The problem is that both are extremely dangerous to Liberty, just in different areas. You may not care about what liberties the (D) are taking away, but I do. I'm equally concerned with the Liberties that the (R) are talking away.
When you overlook the deficiencies of one group (D) because you fear the deficiencies of the other (R), you're equal to those you despise on the other side, who do the exact same things in reverse.
Lets look at the TSA under Obama and his leadership, which is, as far as I'm concerned 10 times worse than anything Bush did, not that Bush wasn't dangerous (he was). The real danger is that Obama is only 1/2 though is first term, and has potentially six more years to screw with us. Bush is no longer here, and no longer scares me.
By Focusing on how horrible Bush was, while ignoring that Obama has for all intents and purposes kept Bush Era rules around and even extended them, does us all a great disservice.
Suffice it to say, Obama scares me more than Bush does. And if he doesn't scare you more than Bush you're living in a delusion. One last point, I love how people think Bush was an idiot, while simultaneously thinking he is brilliantly evil and draconian. I see the left making the same mistake with Palin, while ignoring how stupid Pelosi / Reed seem to be at times. NONE of these people are stupid, they are all just Evil.
To Flip a saying I use occasionally: Any sufficient level of malice is indistinguishable from incompetence.
Nobody. Obviously.

There is something that isn't working. Link Indications aren't working, except when you hover your mouse.
This is basic UI design, you have to distinguish something is different by making it clear
I mean is it really that hard to add an Underline to the CSS?

To Be fair, Gasoline isn't that explosive in liquid form. It has to be vaporized with a proper mixture of O2 to go Explosive.
