Well, Reggie Fils-Aime is right, they download a game ($3-5) and play it a few times until they get bored, and dl another game ($3-5) and play it.
Guess what, it is easier to justify $3-5 on a game, crappy or otherwise than it is to risk 10 times that on a game that may or may not suck, may be fun for many hours of pleasure, or just boring after one time through.
Ten sucky games are worth more than one that may or may not suck.

Colleges aren't giving well rounded education, and haven't for 30 years. They are a bastion of leftwing ideologues indoctrinating students; where having an opposing view to the status quo is routinely quashed.
Try speaking for personal liberty and responsibility in the age of group / identity politics and see what happens. You end up with people like Obama and Holder speaking about how evil the AZ immigration law is, without ever even having read it. Its only Ten Pages, so it isn't like it is a hard read.

But seriously, most IT guys can't put into dollar and cents what the cost of data and power redundancy really is.
When failure happens, the BHBs want to know "how much does this cost", the problem is getting the BHB to realize what it costs BEFORE failure happens.
And while you can't prevent failure 100% of the time, you can have contingencies in place to deal with failures and mitigate against more common types of failures.
The actual cost of stuff not running during power failures is higher than most people know, but they don't ever think about it in the proper way.
At where I work, we lose power, for periods of longer than 1 hours, a couple three times a year. Often it can last several hours and occasionally a day or two.
While the power is gone, NOBODY works. ANYWHERE. The man power costs alone are huge, but hidden. Until IT can put that cost into REAL numbers (average salary per hour x hours average per outage), the PHB will never realize the need for redundancy UNTIL its too late.
UPSes that once were a solution for graceful shutdowns, now they are not, as shutting systems down is not really an option at all. We've grown dependent upon the technology to be there ... always.

In addition, all profits should be paid via dividends, and not salaries, and taxed directly and accordingly. Salaries above a certain level should be taxed as excessive income (TBD). Long term stock price gains should be subject to LOWER taxes than income taxes, so that the long term goals override short term goals.
Additionally, I believe in corporate death penalty, where the assets of the company are seized by the government and put into the treasury, leaving the stock holders empty handed.
Most people will do anything to lower the risk of losing everything, and it WOULD be self regulating.
But then again, we live in a Corporate/State oligarchy, where Corporations are the masters of the State that created them.

Driving is "Freedom" in that you're free to move about greater distances without having to wait for a train, get felt up by TSA agent, or oggled by Pervy McPerverson going through a backscatter scanner.
The moment government requires all cars to be fitted with computers to drive you where you want to go, you'll be necessarily less free than you are now.
But with pervasive tracking already available via most cell phones, I find the point almost moot already.

Not only can Apple move to Sprint or Virgin, ATT would have a nice cause to sue Nokia for the loss of Apple.
The problem Nokia has is that if it sues Apple for patents related to GSM, then everyone who has GSM based products and services would have to start looking elsewhere for alternative technology for fear of being sued when things don't go Nokia's way.
The consequences of patent lawsuits between big players is much broader than the immediate entities involved.
Collateral Damage may come back to haunt Nokia.
