There was a great punk compilation album called "Let Them Eat Jellybeans!" with Ronald Reagan on the cover against an American flag. Anybody else ever see it or listen to it?
On the same day, June 25, but in 1876, arrogance cost George Armstrong Custer his life adn the lives of the men he led.

In this case the environmentalists probably do hold some culpability. It was not an internal combustion engine that struck the shuttle, it was the new foam.
I can't help but think that the Kursk (Oscar class sub) disaster is still fairly recent (relatively speaking). I'd hate to see the mars mission add to the long list of disasters for Russia. The Russians may try but I don't think they will succeed. How bout China?
Only a very few bands make any $$ touring, the majority don't get the draw of 10s of thousands of fans at each show, so the expenses of touring easily clean out any money made at the shows. The reason most bands tour is to get exposure so people wil buy their cds.
Here here! And just as anyone can blog, or take journalism classes, they'll let just about anybody teach jouranlism classes (unless you are sharp, have integrity, and other qualities such as being able to identify George Washington's bust in Monticello).
Sure Iceland can say that. They have no choice whether to be to be oil free or not. The majority of the Iceland will be under sea sometime soon (soon relative to the age of the Universe).
Good lord, it's not dead yet? I had the 'opportunity' to work with SCO a year after I was introduced to Linux. Not what I would say I had in mind when I started studying Linux to get a UNIX job.Do I have tales to tell.
I did mention I was completely nuts didn't I? When I was six, a 'small' tornado hit my block. We were sitting in our living room and the storm started shaking our house. I ran to our sliding glass door (I mentioned I was only six) to see debris flying within yards of where I stood. What I was watching was the tornado taking the roof off the house one house North of the house directly behind ours. The roof was set down in the backyard of our neighbors two houses to our North. The debris was so thinck all I could see was the stuff flying around in our neighbors to the North backyard and only about half way across so I did not get to see the roof of the other house getting tossed, but I remember the sounds and the swirls.
The aftershocks days after the Northridge quake of '94 were registering 5.2. I've always thought (since I am completely nuts and want to experience an earthquake) that 5.2 would be about the perfect strength for a first time quake. It's enough to rattle you but death is not likely.
Wasn't it lucky that not a single carrier of ours was sitting in Pearl Harbor? USS Enterprise, Yorktown, Lexington, and others.
I love the movie Midway with all those great old actors like Peter Fonda's dad and Tom Selleck. I'd rather
see that movie than this Pearl Harbor. We'll probably see a remake of that soon, I'm sure. At least we were able to not only find that sneaky Japanese carrier force, but we sank a few of theirs.
Sounds like even if the worst were to happen and TPJ is gone, something will rise from the ashes. Perl Mongers and Hackers tend to be survivors and Perl could not be more resilient - it was built that way. I just hope my recently paid renewal fee will somehow survive as well.:-)
MickeySoft - they are becoming a little more pathetic with each passing day. Post M$ days are definately here. This reminds me of the manipulative lover in an attempt to get their way, hand on the door crying out, "I'll leave you!" Pathetic.
Siemans is now Oce, but they are still a cool company.
They make great giant laser printers. I worked on a couple in my Computer Operator days. We had a couple old IBMs we got rid of in favor of another Siemans and had very little problems. The IBM were mich higher maintenance (chuckle chuckle).
Can someone post a free version of this book?

I would strongly suggest you buy the book. Not only are you supporting O'Reilly & Associates who happen to be a great focal point for the Open Source Software movement. But think about what things will be like 10 years from now. This book is already a legacy, a piece of lore of a kickass culture.

Cuz we can. Part of the culture of Linux is to tinker, install, get under the hood, understand how it works.
Oops I did it again......

I sure as hell don't (I like that old guy Rollins). We could see how empty life is without Moby and report back to Mr. Mathers.
Marshal is a sharp kid ain't he.

Going from from 6 to 7 is not really compareable to going from 98 to 2000.

Report is everyone who has seen the code is now dead. They have all laughed themselves to death.
How come in Al Gore's reply is totally aimed at defending Prince (the guy from Minneapolis)?
For those who have not read the actual takes from the politcal runners, Gore uses the words "the artist" alot.

My brilliant coworkers woulda loaded Win98 on it with no hesitation.
My War! You're one of THEM!
You say that you're my Friend!

That is a must have. If Open Source did not exist, I'd be doing something completely different. This is what moves me.
Thanks for the plug Cmdr!
