Maybe it's just me, but those reasons tell me that the US is a fscked up country. Which it is, but the US is a whole lot better than a lot (not all) of the alternatives out there. Also show me a being in power and I will show you an individual that has made corrupt decisions, while in power (for the betterment of his/her people... well sometimes anyway... okay close to never). But if Saddam really truly cared about his people, he would have already given into the reasons why the U.S. is holding those sactions, way back in the early nineties.

Well it should have been him... Alec Baldwin is one of those acting prima donna's(started using that word after a previous article). He just shows up and you can expect two things...
There will be overacting.
You can expect a heroic near death sequence, or death sequence
FF you get both and both of number two... They would have been better off with Ben Affleck... By the way can they get someone else to review movie's other than Katz... At least the Filthy Critic is a more entertaining read...
microsoft probably agreed to ignore all license violations in the NM govenment offices.
... but how close do you think that, is to the truth? Besides Microsoft get's to write software piracy off as a loss don't they? (I don't see how they could, but can they?)
When I first started using linux all I saw during the boot process was this failed failed failed... But seeing OK, GOOD OR PASSED is like a daily affirmation, 'I am learning this stuff', or 'at least I haven't fscked up my machine that badly yet.'
Does this also mean that they are killing it when you close down your machine too? It's cool to know what is taking so long to shut down your machine, unlike Windoze's descriptive message: 'Windows is now shutting down.'
(OFFTOPIC) But has anyone notice how much press Microsoft has been getting lately at our favorite newspage? It seems that the Borg theme is right on the money(as it wasn't before:) )as the evil empire is slowly assmilitaing all/. news stories... I am seeing less and less news about Tux and everything that is *nix and starting to think maybe 'Resistance is futile...'
How hard is it to change the name from Mozilla 0.x to Netscape 6.x? Oh and you got to change the little logo too... The real work is being done by those handy dandy Mozilla contributors...
Thanks for the slam. Your right, but nevertheless, no matter what it is(with exception of MonM, no offense to anyone just my personal preference), how good it is, or even how bad it is sex, in space brings a whole new meaning to mile(s) high club.
From the bad guys rebuttal:...the use of DeCSS to decrypt an encrypted DVD has no "speech elements," just as breaking into a museum or library -- or using a computer to break an electronic lock on a library door -- cannot properly be said to have "speech elements."
Brings up an excellent point. Maybe this whole DeCSS decryption isn't speech, and maybe it is bad. So it must be against the law to break into your own house if you lock your keys inside? Because you bought it and own it do you think you have the right to break in? Oh no I got news for you buster, you don't own shit...(Life, Liberty, Property, my ass John Locke)
IMHO you bought the DVD you can wipe your ass with it, as long as you follow the little green screen warning sign at the beginning, or the FBI might get you. I'm trying to be on good behavior just in case someone presses charges for tearing off my mattress tag...
I was under the understanding is the first thing you do in XP is to develop test cases. How are you going to test your code before you do anything else.
Also the whole point of XP is to be able to release code, as the customer needs it adding functionality as you go, that is why you build test cases first to understand when you add that new module to make sure it works with all the previous versions. But I think pair programming is the most beneficial aspect of XP. I remember nights at school that the most work we ever got done, was in front of a whiteboard, writing / collaborating code, almost without design, in different color markers. That is the true power of XP, collaboration.

IT Unions?

In some professions, but in the IT world? It's different when you are a construction worker, and are getting ripped off for long hours and minimal pay. Unions are formed to protect their members. As an IT worker, if you don't like your current situation, to pick up and leave fairly easily by posting your resume on one of the numerous search engines, and wa la you might increase your salary by 10%.
If unions did get involved, it might have an interesting affect on the whole software development process for many companies. Either the timeline for Software Development will be extended, or the price of software will be raised to keep the timeline, by hiring my SE or paying out overtime (Caused by Union Demands).
Raising software prices / licensing might cause a massive movement for companies to pursue open source alternatives, so maybe Unions could be beneficial...
port starcraft, or make some kind of kick ass RTS (for linux)... That is all I care about...
Sadly though IMHO WineX might potentially kill a lot of the lesser "porters," of these games, like Hyperion or Tribsoft (no offense to either). But then again, from what I hear Loki is doing alright for themselves.
The problem boils down to, is when I'm in Best Buy or some other kind of store, they don't usually stock linux games, because they think they won't sell. It might help if people would waste a couple of minutes go buy their local software and ask, 'hey you got Tribes 2 for linux,' and after the clerk says we have Tribes 2, repeat 'no I mean for linux.' Little things like that will help. Revolutions don't start overnight, but I wish they did.
Then again, just allow me to play Starcraft without booting to winblows and I'll shut up...
I can't think of any GOOD game that was based on a movie. None!
You mean LucasArts is still in business? Wow I didn't realize all those Star Wars games I bought sucked... Good thing EB buys back games... Whew thank you... Thank you from saving me from those not so 'GOOD' games, I only want to play good games...
Sorry let me clean this statement up.
