Just my thoughts. I believe most SciFi is based on Christian ideals ie Games Workshop Universe, Star Wars Universe. Thats because the bible is the original story about good v evil and faith etc. Its a basic story that resonates through all humans who believe there is something better than this current world, which u can reach by Faith.

Not meaning to offend anyone but I think the bible is as believable as the Matrix. If u put the matrix to paper and sent it back to 1AD (or whenever) u could pretty much have a religion.

If the US followed the Oz/NZ route and went with plastic, they wouldn't have to change the design. Just the stuff it's printed on. Then it would still be distinctive but would also be secure.

I'm sure its been mentioned but Oz started switching to them around '94. Those bad boys are great. I recently put $100 through the wash and of course it survived. Try doing that with paper money. When I go surfing now, I can leave my money in my wetsuit pocket instead of leaving it on the beach. I have heard somewhere that Oz money is the hardest to forge (Not that any one would want to copy the Pacific Peso). Why don't the Yanks change to it. Is it because the technology was developed in Oz (I think). Also seeing the Euro was a brand new currency, why didn't they make it plastic instead of flimsy paper.

Is it compatible with any metro system, maybe the Prague Metro. It'll probably become a road side restaurant. BTW I havn't seen one for a while but is it still called Tandy in Australia or have they gone broke. Jaycar was always better.
I grew up in the hey day of quality cartoons such as Tranformers, Maks, Thundercats, Voltron and my favourite Robotech/Macross. I still watch cartoons but they are terrible. They are all nicklodeon clones. They are all cutsy and nice. Kids don't watch that. They want shooting and things blowing up. Remember how cool Transformers was (and the toys). I am no fan of violence etc but its harmless in cartoons. This link between TV and violence is wrong. My friends and I all watched them and we are normal. Bring back decent cartoons.

Seeing the Hulk is quite some years old, I don't think thats argument really stands. And whats wrong with being a Godless Commie, I am one (well godless socialist to be precise). ANd the future for us is alternative energy; Solar, Wind and Tidal power. BTW I think nuclear power would be great if they could find a way to get rid of the waste. And don't even thoink about sending Down Uder like some Yanks want. Maybe send it into the sun.
Just looking at how things work.com. The article on the space elevator says they could build it for $10 Billion. What a small amount of money. Espcially when the US military gets some thing like $380 billion. Come on US gov. priorities!!!
Doesn't anyone believe in knowledge for knowledge's sake anymore. Any bit of knowledge learned is a step further for us. Bush (or the next president) should announce a goal like Kennedy did. We need to send people into space cause we can. I think we should im for mars as well as build a moon base. If america doesn't then china or even india should. I am sure there were people saying the same sorts of things to Columbus before he left. Magellan died on his trip round the world but people kept going.
Everyone should read the book 'Case for Mars', its a great book outlining the ways we could get to Mars. Call me a geek but I think space is a great place for us to aim towards.

My school hte British International School in Jakarta Indonesia had a whole heap of acorns which we still used when I left in 1998. Maybe they could get some from there. easy.
