  1. Re:Is a cops' life worth more than mine? on Washington State Restricts Anti-Cop Videogames · · Score: 1

I totally agree. They always go on about police have to be respected blah blah blah. I always thought cops should be members of the community they patrol. I am trying to say something here but can not get my point across. I am an Australian living in London. THe police here are much better. They are more even handed and less likely to hand out fines for minor things but to recommended some other form of punishment.

It seems to me he is a bit of a doomsday merchant. While we do have big problems on this planet, i don't think they are irreversable. First thing to do is get the big business serving leaders out of office. I think government should be like jury duty. That would force every one to take notice of issues. The problem with politicians is that the people who go into politics suck arse. But I do think space colonisation is a worth while venture. I'm sure if we made colonisation a goal, some one would come up with a warp drive or something pretty soon. Think how far we have progressed in 100 years.

  4. They won't learn on Can Hollywood Learn From Intuit? · · Score: 1

Intuit is a small company which can not afford the loses. Its primarily a home office type product. Business probably doesn't use it. Whereas as we all know M$ is huge and business uses it. It will be used by banks etc first and they will love it. Then for consumers to use online banking etc we will have to use it. Its inevitable.

Sorry I'm feeling very gloomy about the world situation today.

  5. 1984 on Congressional Anti-Piracy Caucus Formed · · Score: 3, Interesting

These sorts of articles are coming out faster and faster everyday. I never used to worry about it but now I am really starting to sweat. Its not just in the US where they are doing it. A lot of comments here say we will move offshore. Where are you going to go. ITs ahpopening in Australia and in Britain. While the majority of the population sleeps throuugh life, getting their news from sources that don't report things like this, they are tightening the screws. 1984 should be mandatory reading.

BTW Guns are not the answer. Peacefully protest is. Do you really think that the citizens of the US could beat the US Defence force.

  6. Re:Go Apple, Go Roxio on PressPlay + Roxio? · · Score: 1

  7. Old Stuff on Australian Computer Museum Looking For Space · · Score: 0, Redundant

One of the computers is from 1950 or something. Oz had the 3rd or 4th (or something like that) computer ever. It was one of those big old ones that took a few rooms to house it. It was built at Melbourne University. Thats why they need lots of space.

  8. Go Apple, Go Roxio on PressPlay + Roxio? · · Score: 4, Insightful

Hopefully Roxio will sort out a good system. EZ-CD kicks arse so hopefully they can do something like Apple. The biggest problem they have is cost. I think the per-song price needs to be lower. If it was 20-50 cents, I believe you could make it work. I for one would buy. I don't particular like using napster, kazaa etc. With all the broken files and poor quality etc its just a pain but I put up with it cause its cheaper and I can get songs that you can't buy at the local Justin Timberlake/J.Lo store.

Maybe the success of Apple is making the record companies take notice. If Roxio offered competitive pricing and a large back catalogue they could be onto a winner.

  9. Targets on Next Generation Space Shuttles · · Score: 1, Insightful

I agree with most of the posts here. NASA should have a big unmanned heavy lift rocket and a smaller SHUTTLE for humans. George W should do a speech like JFK and aim for Mars and a permanent base on the Moon. That would stimulate interest in space. Also he could use it to hide other problems in his administration (sorry but there always has to be something in it for the politicians).

If we got to the moon in 69 how far could we get now. It needs to be highly funded to. I can't remember who said it but its a golden quote.

'We are going to the moon in a spacecraft made by the lowest bidder'

We need to get away from that mentallity. Award the contracts on ideas/quality. I'd would mind spending more money on space and less on Defence/Iraq occupation.

Finding lost people. At sea, in the wilderness what ever

    Bad Stuff

This is the experiment I use to argue with creationists. They always say where did life come from and I point them towards this.

THe thing with creationists is that they are always forcing evolutionists to defend their theory and if they can't they use the god by default argument which is basically if you can't explain something, there must be a god. Thats the sort of reasoning that the indigineous cultures used.

Next time you are talking to a creationist, make them defend there belief. Aks them where god came from or something similar.
