True that. In the US we see the old slavery of pre-1865 as barbaric, and we like to think we've moved beyond that.
We think that our economy is dependant on foreign slave labor, but is that an excuse? I bet the old slave owners thought their economy was dependant on that version of slavery.
Absolutely, only Microsoft and Apple should be allowed to patent trolls. Other companies should not even be allowed to defend themselves against MS and Apple.
By the way: how many scam lawsuits has Google filed? And how about MS and Apple?
As far as I'm concerned, whatever Apple has has accomplished is completely overshadowed by Apple's non-stop, hyper-aggressive, disgraceful, legal scamming.
How many of the companies being sued HAVEN'T used patents as an offense rather than a defense?
Better questions: outside of Apple, and Microsoft; how many companies are constantly filing frivolous IP lawsuits, in an obvious effort to restrain free trade?
And when I say constantly, I mean to the point that those companies hardly ever do anything other such extortionist scams?
I have worked in IT for 32 years. As I remember, most of the old COBOL developers did not have a computer "science" background, or any formal education beyond high school. In fact, few colleges back then even had a CS degree. I can remember when developers (called "programmers" back then) where promoted from computer operators.
Further, this sort of thing exposes in a very blatant way how the DoD and the contractors responsible for developing these vehicles have made little to no effort to safeguard them from radio interference
According the NYT, it is exceedingly unlikely that Iran captured the drone with some of cyber attack.
Of course, at this point, who knows who's lying. But I would not take Iran at their word.
Also, before you get all pissy about the US invading Iran's airspace, maybe you should look into Iran's recent history.
It's just not slashdot unless there are half a dozen google smearing articles everyday.
Google has no obligation to host your pirated - or non-pirated - videos. As such, taking down a video to avoid a lawsuit is hardly "evil."
And slashdot thinks this is news.
I wonder who financed this "news."
I wonder is biased blogs should be used for "news."
Seriously, this is news coming out of Iran. The entire story is "according to Iranian engineer."
I don't know, maybe it is true, but I see no reason to jump to any conclusions.
I mean, if an Iranian said it, it must be true.
Besides, haven't you noticed that everybody (besides you) on slashdot immediately believed every word of the article?
I can't run iFlipr on my 1st Gen iPod Touch.

Compared to who? If woman don't want to be developers, what should we do? Force them?
In other news, Steve Ballmer says MS is better that Apple, etc.
Didn't they do that in "Minority Report?"

Maybe you have missed all the hyper-aggressive fivilous patent lawsuits that microsoft routinely files against Android users?

Any 3rd party. That way, congress will know that you are disgusted, and not just lazy.
If you Apple can use their laughably bogus patents to restrain free trade, in ways that are beneficial to Apple, then why not?

Are you trying to distort the truth?
The JooJoo was released before the iPad, and was prototyped way before the iPad.
So? Let it blow up. That's a lot better than an international incident.
Didn't you see that episode?
Or, maybe some - now very wealthy - US enlistee arranged the entire thing?

Would it give Iran any great insight into US technology? Or anything of that nature?
Available apps are also a very big deal, in PCs, and in tablets.
Who cares about high quality, if it doesn't run the apps you need.
Oh please, look at the Vizio 8 for $189, or the Lenovo Ideapad A1 for $199; among many others.
You used to buy a TV box for a few hundred dollars, then your only expense was electricity. Not enough profit.
Today, a home theater system can cost thousands, and then $150 a month for the cable - and you still have to watch commercials.
