Sounds like an urban myth to me. Why wouldn't the spy agency just have Exide make it better batetries at a higher than normal cost?

But my whole point was that the static IP was most likely being bought from one of the 'evil' corps. The same can be said about dynamic IPs as well.
N. Denmark to S. Spain, would be approxiamately Maine to FL, on I-95, where coverage is 99%. Listen, Europe is smaller than the US. Europe is also more centralized.
According to George Carlin, when he came to my town, CC and CCE are totally separate and that is why he is not leaving CCE because of the Stern brouhaha.

With a fixed IP and a 24/7 server, you can run your own server. (Though, admittedly, it's not something a novice can make work.) Where do you think 98% of the people would GET the static IP from?
Just steal it from someone else then?
Can you tell me which classics 'MAME' made back in the day?
So instead of buying a 2.4Ghz cordless phone ( or just going with a wired phone) you got rid of the landline ( and pizza delivery ).
