I wonder whether the google trend takes into account the number of times a user moves on to the second and susequent pages of the search. It would be wildly disproportionate if they did, as searchers not finding answers on the first page of a search, indeed not get the answer they were looking for at all, could make up the bulk of the statistics.
Why are you using Browser stats to sustantiate a point about her work with an operating system wide service pack?
I am pretty sure that Windows (the security expert) had already gone from Windows (the OS) well before August and the so called 'patch the patch' debacle.
Maybe Ms. Snyder thought working on a browser that is a stand-alone app rather than a browser that has hooks in the entire OS is a less overwhelming challenge!

Now, that makes perfect sense.
Probably used Fire which required carbon based plant life and oxygen. Can only imagine at the scale they were producing bronze tools, it probably wasn't that complicated as the GP suggests.
Is that because OS X *is* Linux (RedHat anybody)? I had heard statements made to that effect, but I don't have any personal experience of looking under the hood.
My Banks website main page looks bad in both betas but when I uninstalled it looked ok again - does that not suggest that it has dropped IE7 functionality completely?
Please enumerate where this 1% comes from.
I have used it(IE7) and I can say that more than 1% of websites I have visted with IE7 work/look just as good as viewing them with FF1.5.0.6. I can also say that there are some sites that definitely look crap on IE7.
I have also found that both IE6 and FF1.5.0.6 both with shockwave plugins, crash (disappear) when viewing sportsline.com/mlb game center pages. This would seem to point the finger at the plugin - not the browser.
I should probably point out that I installed IE7 BETA2 on XP and when I *wanted* to install Beta3 I found that I had to uninstall BETA2 - what the? Anyway I uninstalled BETA2 and then thought - how will I install (from the net) Beta3? I don't have a browser? (Sure that was theoritical cause I did have FF). To my great surprise, there was IE6 working just like it had before IE7 was installed. My point: stop being a woose and install IE7, try it out, if it fails your criterion for a good browser - get rid of it.
Um, didn't read the article - right?
Not Microsoft software. Software written for PDA, by third parties.
Really you just like bagging out Microsoft - admit it.
Shiny beige Dell boxes? I can't remember any time in the last 5 years that I have seen a beige Dell computer in Australia. I have seen plenty of gray and/or black Dells. Unless the medical industry has specified beige?
I think what you have just said is that large companies "appear" not to bother to listen to their customers at all. Which goes back to the GP, assertion that as the company gets larger it has to deal with a lot more input from interest groups who feel that their concern is the most important.
Can you say Supply and Demand? There is no compelling reason for a manufacture to set up a Linux driver development team. I don't for a minute think that there should be too many differences between distros but it would be remiss for this team not to avail themselves to every distro known to run a test to ensure compatibility. Then they start all over the again upon the next release of the device. It would be like painting the Harbour Bridge.
Wow, could you share a few more details of how you achieved the shot. I have toyed with night photo's of the moon, but I am not expereinced enought to know how to set it up. I have a Olympus C740. I assume I set manual settings and all, could you give a few clues?
My wife is a vet. nurse, I would never question here knowledge in her field. The level of empathy for animals is a major part of what makes her who she is.
I am offended that you should suggest that people who don't recognize different symbolism from OS to OS are some how lacking in intellegence.
This is a level of arrogeance that needs to be modded, or forget about wide spread usage of non-windows, PC OSs. Just live in your own happy land of linux and stop trying to make others change their mental processes to suit your view of the world. Listening to what people think might go along way towards bringing them around to your way of thinking. (Yes there are people outside the world of Operating systems debate, that do not even care, they just want to get it done.)
Oh, wait you posted Anonymously! Oh well, take heed anyway.
Let's face it; this will eventually pass on to humans, then they will go destroy the environment of the mice, snakes, mongooses (mongeese?), gorillas, tigers and elephants, so hey presto no problem.
But why should that be a problem? Linux is so good and everybody want's to use it so why the heck should Dell worry. Sure there might be a short period while the market get's used to the concept, but once everybody realises that Linus is heaps better and easier to use, they will be flocking to get an uber stable Dell machine running their favourite disto.

How about Apples vs Oranges?

2 buttons and a wheel here. Can't understand how Horde = 2?

No, he's just pleased to see Star Trek get mentioned on /.
Dude, you should just say CON, because the long OO sound makes it sound like your putting down our indigenious people.

Vista runs quite comfortably on the 15Gb drive I installed it on.

Can you attest to measurements made before the 1800's as being acurate and extensive enought to give a global snapshot?

It might have been better to have said; teach courses on how to drink - using Coke, but not Pepsi.

WOW all those things come bundled with OS/X - thus making it a "Mac".

Why does microsoft have to provide a binary/source for linux?
