Doesn't that just fly in the face of the entire premise of science?

It's true that stupid people will sadly act as you described.

However, one of the goals Anet has for GW2 is to eliminate the concept of the "endgame." Typically in mmos you simply grind until you are max level so you can get to the "fun stuff." Anet thinks that a game that makes you wait for the "fun part" isn't a very good game. They are trying to design a game where the entire thing is fun, and people don't feel the need to reach max level quickly in order to have fun.

They are also implementing a side-kicking system so high level players can play with their lower level friends without roflstomping everything, and vice-versa. This should eliminate some of the need for people to reach max level to play with their friends.

WE can't fix the problem. We are a minority group of intelligent people surrounded by morons. The only way that we could fix the problem is if we created a magical device that made everyone more intelligent.

American voters would have to be willing to say, "I will not vote twice for anyone who accepts bribes, even if their platform matches my own." As it is now, people will vote for anyone who claims they agree with them on X issue, regardless of whether they accept bribes or not. Voters just turn a blind eye and say, "Well the other guy accepts bribes too, so I'll still vote for my party of choices candidate, even if I know he/she accepts bribes."

The problem is people will vote for a Democrat or Republic without having any clue what that individual believes or has done in the past. Bi-partisanship and ignorant voting has ruined any sense of accountability for our government.

The biggest reason people don't have disposable income is that they suck ass at managing their money.

I'm currently a student and as such my wife and I combined make about 30,000 a year (after paying for school, yes I get scholarships). We always have plenty of food in our freezer, we got out to eat whenever we feel like it, I just spent $800 to build myself a brand new desktop, I have a big screen LCD, a PS3, and a Wii, my wife has her own laptop, we live in a pretty nice apartment without a lot of noise and in a part of town with a low crime rate, ect, ect.

You know what I don't have? A ridiculously larger house than I need to live in, a stupidly high car payment (both of our cars were bought used, with cash, so no car payment actually), and I keep down on bills by actually researching who's the cheapest for things like car insurance and by not having useless extras like cable tv (I can watch whatever I want on the internet already). I also don't waste half my money on worthless things like cigarettes, alcohol, and gambling.

People who are making 30k a year (especially single people!) and don't have disposable income either need to move to a cheaper state (I live in New Mexico) or need to learn how to manage their money better.

This is what's really sad. All that matters is who pays the politicians more money. And what's funny is it's not even a secret anymore. Sure we have a fancy word for it: "lobbying," but everyone who isn't a complete moron knows that 'lobbying' is just a fancy word for 'paying off.'

Every 2 years we elect more politicians who all claim that they will put an end to corruption and lobbying, but the second they get into office they are taking bids for their votes.

I've heard a lot of people who like both styles. Personally I wish they would get smart and make a controller where the D-pad and the Analog stick are detachable so you can switch them with ease. There are still a lot of games I HATE using analog for, such as fighting games, navigating menus (so RPG's) and platformers. In these genres (for me) the D-pad is far superior to a analog stick.

And I've yet to hear anyone complain about the D-pad being split (besides you, of course). In fact the D-pad on the PS3 controller is often cited as the best D-pad there is and is one of the reasons people prefer to buy fighting games on the ps3 given the choice. The D-pad on the 360 is absolutely horrid in my opinion.

In any case, they need to make a controller where the D-pad and Analog sticks are in little plastic things that you can clip into place. Then you can switch them around to any position you want, and you could also have different style D-pads and analog sticks (such as the rounded playstation stick or the concave 360 stick).

I mean if they reaaaaly wanted to push it they could even get a TV commercial on it.
