Wish I had mod points. Reprinting advertising from other "magazines" and calling it "news."
There are things no prostitute would do, regardless of the money offered. Nice to see \. doesn't have that problem.
"Never waste a crisis." This attack is being used to give a reason why government needs a back door to every communications system. The idea that there is a way for the plebes to escape the prince's eye bugs them to no end.
Sure, buy PART of the business. But don't tell the guy who built it into an empire,"Ok, you can go away now. We'll run things." You want to do that, buy him out.
So...The solution is to do nothing? Or go further and further out for water? Small Solutions (I really oughta trademark that) can give more time to find a bigger solution. Power from orbital satellites? Cheap fusion? Or maybe enough people die off to not need more water.
Small solutions also get people used to the idea that there IS a problem, and maybe solvable. Or maybe we don't plant crops or build cities in places with no water?
The A-10 and the F-35 are very different aircraft. The A-10 is a close air support platform, and the F-35 is a light bomber with self defense capability. Comparing the two is frankly rather silly. One cannot do the job of the other. See the F-35 for what it is, and it has the capability, once the bugs are worked out, of being a fine aircraft. But it isn't a fighter, or a close support platform.
I think doing this small scale dooms it to failure. As has been said above, producing that much water at that price would make the inventor another Bill Gates.
Put the desalinators on the coast, use OTECS to power both the desalinators and the pumps. Sell the sea salt, harvest the fish from the OTECS runoff, profit.
( Homer Simpson voice) "Mmmm...Indigenous people." And, I really don't understand the "cis" part. "Male" is by genetics or choice. It does not state who you sleep with. Merely an attempt to get attention and look smart. Gets the wrong kind of attention, does not look smart.
Look a bit further. Like your smartphone? Thank NASA. Or the fact that virtually ALL our most advanced medical scanning devices were first built by NASA. Want to get rid of industrial pollution? Without returning to the 13th century? Then help move them to lunar orbit, were it can't hurt anything else.
Or, well you could go hug a tree until Brother Bear eats you alive.
The possibility exits that this is a test of capability/public demonstration. "You saw what we did to him, now either pay up/write what we tell you, or your site will go down and stay down." Too Tom Clancy-ish?
I'm not suprised by this. Companies exist for the sole purpose to make money, and advertising has always paid well. But isn't this a major invasion of privacy?
While I do feel sorry for their employees, AOL going out of business would be a good thing. Their business practices stink, as does their customer service. Getting your money VS keeping good realtions. Dos vedonya, pinheads.

That type of person SHOULD be encouraged to "shear stupidity."

The human body is two thirds (or so) water. Extraction would not be difficult.
A hug....Right. Then a free ride back to the mothership.

This reminds me of an old Dilbert strip. "It only has one button, and we press it before it leaves the factory."

Nah...Just sting it to death. No Chairs! No Chairs! I'll see my self out!
"The people that did it." First of all you would use the pronoun "who": The people who did it.
But, who *did* "do* *it*?
What is the it that was done, and by whom?
Was it someone who created the botnet? Was it someone who controlled the botnet and directed it to attack a specific target?
Was it the manufacturers of devices who used crappy chips in their products which were vulnerable?
Was it the manufacturer(s) of the chip themselves for even making such product(s)?
Was it our government for failing to regulate, inasmuch as such chips should not even be allowed to be used in the first place?
Is it us, for allowing our government to fail to regulate, and allowing there to be companies which make and use crappy chips that are vulnerable?
"None of us hung the man, sheriff. We just took turns holding the rope." Put the blame on them all, it''ll come to the same, in the end.

It's evolution in action. By all means, let's get more of these "amateur scientists" in there, and get more stupid out of the gene pool.
