They shut off all landline adapters using their Skype Number product last month...I was not happy to lose a service I had paid for half way though the year.
We had one guy right out of college demanding $80k...we didn't hire him because he was an ass...but salary.com has 49k-84k for entry level for my area.
So were landlines back then. My grandparents still had a party line in the 90s, you could pick up the phone and listen to any number of conversations of the other parties that were on that line (there were 4 on their line). I remember the fun we had with it...you had to hang up after dialing any of the other party members, then it would ring the party's phone...which allowed for dialing yourself to ring your own phone...ah the trouble I got into.
They paid for there degree, they can have it. When they get into an interview and get asked to write FIZZBUZZ on the whiteboard, they will regret their decision.
Last year my home was Zillowed around $155k. It was appraised by the bank in 2007 as $169k, and 2010 as $179k. Then all of the sudden it was being Zillowed this year around $215k , and they even adjusted their history to make it look like they have never had it showing at $155k.
Sometimes I find that doing something other than my job for bit, increases productivity. There are days where I just can't concentrate. If I can get my brain into work mode by doing some other project, in the end it benefits the company. I went through a phase where I would read a chapter of a book, then work for an hour, repeatedly, all day. I found that I was more focused during those hour period than a typical day, and I spent almost no time at all trolling/. and other news sites. Boss said as long as I get my job done, he doesn't care. The problem arises when your side project makes a lot of money and you spent company resources/time on it.
I was at a job where I was left with nothing to do for 2 weeks straight. If I have no work to do, I will do whatever I want. In my college days and shortly after, I was doing tech support calls...I was perfectly capable of walking someone through how to restart a modem while writing software to do whatever.
Now that you mention it, I did get extra scrutiny when I traveled alone...questions like 'Are you carrying more than $10k?' or 'Do you have a $15k engagement ring for her?'. I was like, 'Dude, I've only met her in real life twice'...lol. I do have a beard but it ranks most trustworthy on the trustworthiness of beards chart. I bet if I did a Hitler mustache and cross alone, I'd get sent to secondary screening...lol.
I cross the border several times a year, I've never been asked if I'm even carrying electronic devices, let alone inspect them. I've only been asked about alcohol, weapons, drugs...and fruits & vegetables. I had to pop my trunk once, and they were inspecting everyone's trunks that day.
An engineer would rather be working on projects of their own choosing. If I had the financial security, I would quit my job and venture off into my own projects that may or may not make money some day. I wouldn't need to make what someone else want's me to make just to pay the bills.
No RAID for me. These are for movies so the data doesn't change once its full. I make a backup and pop it in the fire safe. As far as opening them, as long as the disk itself has not been opened or physically damaged, then it is fine.
I've never had a problem copying several TB at once. My only drive failure in recent memory was a 1.5TB that I bought in 2009 that had clicking issues from the beginning, but it still lasted until 2016 serving as a backup drive.
I snagged an 8TB from newegg last black friday for $169, and there were some clearanced WDs that were through office max earlier this month, 6TB for $109 and 4TB for $79. They are externals, but easy to disassemble.
I never understood their decisions...why disable the phone when you can redesign the battery to not blow up and just swap batteries? I mean the battery is a removable part.
If light and other particles could travel and infinite speeds during the creation of the universe....wouldn't that throw off all methods of dating the universe? In fact, wouldn't that make Biblical creation very plausible?
How are the crusades any different than today? We are actively trying to eliminate all the radical muslims that we can...we just do it safely from unmanned drones. It was a political response to the violent spread of Islam, very much like today.
From the religious perspective...God doesn't just judge people, but nations as well. The belief is that if our nation turns to this lifestyle, the country will fall.

Syrian Refugees don't get H-1Bs...

You still buy into that myth that Java is slow?

fill a 16TB that is
True, the Barracuda Pro 10TB drive is about 80MB/s faster than the 8TB archive drive, so likely it would also take roughly 24 hours to fill.
It took me about 24 hrs to fill one of their 8TB drives...so easily 2 days to fill a 16TB.

All sex outside of marriage is 'immoral' according to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

Why can't I participate as a full fledged engineer. I could use the $100k
