    I wonder where the cables will run through north Africa? A lot of unstable regimes there, would be easy for terrorists to cut/blow up the cables, whether overhead or underground. Not good for energy security.

    I agree up to a point. My home is sacrosanct, I can do what I want there. I can choose my friends carefully, sadly I'm stuck with the family I have, so if I was worried by this I would have to make a conscious decision. I totally agree that ubiquity will be a problem though. Political discussion will have to take place in the garden :)

    I know ... but they have an equivalent in software. If you leave this 'virtual shutter' open too long, you will get blurring/camera shake

    It's also about he sensor. DSLR sensors are MUCH bigger that those in mobile phones, so they can collect much more light. This in turn gives better S/N ratio, shutter speeds etc.

    A tank engine is so named because it has an integrated water tank, as opposed to a tender. There were typically used for short routes as they could carry less fuel/water than a 'mainline' locomotive with a tender for water and coal.

    It's not the windows command prompt - it's a full bash prompt. And once you've ssh'd in, you can't tell the difference.
