    Common lisp has OO (defined as some macros). So in lisp, you can make it any kind of language you want. OO/ not-OO / whatever else you care to think of.No need to create a new language

    Does copyright seriously have to last that long. Death of author + 70 is way long enough. I think making copyright expire with the death of the author is a good idea on things on books, recordings, etc. because if the author's dead, he can't make any money off the work, right.

    There are three bits of good news in that article.
    1. 1. There was no damage to electronics or satellites, so all of the /. community's geeky shiny is safe
    2. 2. There will be really impressive light displays (which I hope someone will post on YouTube
    3. 3. We are developing the ability to forecast "space weather", thus leading to a new field, astrometeorology

    However, the bad news is that satellites might go if a bigger storm comes along.

    It's the bank login details that are worth money, not the facebook logins.

    Yeah, but Facebook and emails can be used for social engineering to gain more bank account numbers.

    I would wish I spoke for everyone when I say good luck fixing the colling system. I personally hope that the spacesuit doesn't come off during the walk, because, at the rate the ISS has been going with failures, that's probably what's gonna happen.

    I would really hope that this gets fixed quickly. Otherwise, this (having been posted on Slashdot), will spawn a website listing hackable ATMs and the banks will lose another $X million dollars and Obama will have to bail them out again.

    Dammit. Percentages exist. 0-100% is how we did it at my middle school. with 0 being something obvious, (like handing in a blank paper or getting everything wrong) and the coveted 100 is "all correct". To get a report card grade average all scores. (Well, in actuality, it was more complex than that as there were "major grades" (tests, reports, etc.) and "minor grades" (everything else), each of which counted for 50% of the final grade, with the lowest minor grade being dropped at the end of each grading cycle (because forgetfulness happens sometimes)). Failure was defined as N 70%
