Not to mention, it would allow money to flow down to regular working folk. Can't have that kind of economic leakage allowing $$$ to escape Wall Street / DC.
Outside makes my eyes burn and water, my nose start running and my skin to itch really bad. When are those Moon Base Alpha condos finally opening? I've had money down for decades!
My daughter's public elementary school (New Mexico) has started her in on Algebra and Geometry in fourth grade, as well as actual chemistry, biology, earth science and astronomy. They're also learning not just how to use computers/office suite but the theory behind computers and information search/classification. Due to budget cuts, music and art are now taught by parent volunteers in before and after school programs as well as a lego robotics club. This school isn't a charter school but about half the students' parents work at a DOE National Lab and tend to be pretty active with the school.
As for language, grandma (college spanish professor) is teaching her Spanish and I'm giving her the basics of Latin. She should do ok.
Will just have to make our own aliens. Who's up for some freaky body mods so they can settle and start an Ayn Rand asteroid settlement. Within a generation or two; totally alien.
So... if we can just circle the sun with superconducting cables and learn how to manipulate the magnetosphere (a trustworthy mutant would come in handy here), could then generate CME's pointed in the right direction to get a solar sail probe on it's way!
You mean nearest star? Nearest galaxy to Milky Way is the Sagittarius Dwarf Elliptical Galaxy; 70,000 light years from Sol. Not sure constant thrust (1g - 3g?) would allow us to reach it within 50-70 years.
Killed Your Television is in a Quicktime video window. This shirt dates from early 2000's, before YouTube/Hulu/etc. Rather prescient on artist's part, I think.
Ever see that show with a British chef going in to some Alabama elementary school with a bunch of different (but common) vegetables and asking 3rd graders to identify them. Was really scary. A lot of these kids had never seen any food that wasn't processed. Now, wife and I were lucky that we both grew up 'ethnic' (I'm Chicano, she's white bread Kansas), with mothers who cooked and we were both trained as kids to cook as well. Fruits and veggies are standard fare in meals and for snacks in our house.
Thing is, there appears to be several generations in the U.S. that have lost touch with cooking and making meals. I see this even in daughter's scout leader; apparently they live entirely on pre-made things like pizza and frozen meals. And this is someone of at least nominal intelligence, with DIY skills, who works part time, that doesn't go and make real food. Totally bizarre. Of course, her kids are the worst behaving kids we know.
Nope. The crash was all due to those 70% of the economy middle class consumers. Y'all notice that Wall Street hasn't had an problems and is working just fine. But it's all the rest of the loosers out there who are whining about jobs and pay and crap like that. If, after 200 odd years, they haven't figured out how to make it in America, then it's time for them to go. Sweep out the dead wood and send them all overseas to some communist paradice like Mejxico or Canadidia. Once they're gone, the 30% of the economy that's working right will then be 100% and America will be something for the world to point at and admire.
And if it's allowed in the rules, when you conquer one of their cities, you get to grab one of their techs.

Talk about a long dream sequence; when Bob woke up next to Elaine and the hotel in Vermont was all a dream.
So film purists will become as annoying as album purists?

Yeah, but Katharine Helmund was funny!

He did that worm thing real well, though.
How does someone retain -20%?
Maybe if they changed the numbering scheme to using the year it's released?

Sorta' like driving by a mucky, algae filled puddle; try not to get any on you.

Someone should do a t-shirt.
Peace through superior firepower?
