I don't need Russels commentary. I'm well aware of the spying and know that we do not yet have the processing power to analyze such data stream in such amount for terrorist identification. Especially when you realize that terrorist communication can be so well hidden as to be common conversation where the communicating parties know a different meaning to what is said. Words, abstractions are only of value when used with agreed upon meaning, where the meaning can be established to be something quite different than perceived by spys.

During teh civil war there was what was called teh underground railroad where communication about it was done in teh cotton fields, via sing song.

However the spying on digital communications and transactions, though incapable of identifying specific "terrorist activities" was still valuable for determining the general populations attitude towards the Bush Admins public communications and as such provided a feedback loop to enable deceiving the American public and beyond into believe the line of BS they wanted to feed the public. And recent information has come out to further support this in that Journalist were of special spying focus.

The Obama Administration is supportive of this use of public funds and spying on the public. How else is it probably to promote change and claim it want the American public wants. But in itself this is not change at all but what has become same old, same old.... where change is only in improving the same old...direction.

I suspect the word Obama will become a word to mean "bait and switch". And I'd really like to be wrong on this, but read the Declaration of Independence for the probability of such change to actually happen.

You are born and you will die and in your human lfe time you have to fit it in to the ideologies others have created. But why if there is a better way than teh way being used?

If anyone is looking for to use MS windows pirating as an excuse for the bad economy or in any way contributing to it... Wake up.
The economy is not what it is because of the knowledge, natural resources and man power we have, as what we have here calculates to a far better result.
But it is what it is because of how badly it has been manipulated by its inventors (inventors of the monetary systems of how new money is created).
The abstract of money is easy to manipulate, to easy to detour away from the values one actually produces.

When you have systems like the abstract stock market that is based on the abstract concept of money, it is in essence no longer an investment in a company but a method of transferring wealth without productively producing anything, and you have inherent problems.

As to the pirating.... Why are they doing it anyway as there are free options which are improving to the point of being better than, and surpassing, proprietary software.

So.... So what that MS has busted some pirate software producers. Obviously it is their (pirates) own choice to play the risk game.

This is not news of how well their genuine windows advantage works as those going to prison only become a burden on society to support them.

Oh wait... food, clothing, shelter..... supplied for free? I guess there is an advantage to pirating...

And when the next few generations die off nobody will know the difference anymore.

But if everyone pinched in being productive then we obviously would have a much better living so called economy.

The more OSS expands and improves the more obvious it is going to become that there is another and better way.

Without reading the details of this guys previous history that put him on parole to begin with, I'd imagine that having such cartoons and anime are really not direct evidence of his breaking parole but supporting evidence of the direction of his mental state and concern for real children he may come into contact with. Out of sight, out of mind is perhaps conditions of his parole?

The idea of Japanese anime depicting child porn is perhaps interesting as there seem to be laws that Japanese porn, real or anime, are restricted in what all is allowed to be shown. Certainly these restrictions are more strict than what restrictions against child porn would be and as such inherently include restrictions against child porn.

Perhaps they should be busting those who produce child porn anime as it does seem there are laws against it even in the country its produced in.

....and realize your description can be as simple as you want to make it or so complicated, like in patent lawyer speak, that even a genius might have trouble following it.

There are different levels of knowledge where the further away you get from core knowledge the more complicated and error prone or distorted knowledge can become.
There is a cycle also to the evolution of knowledge, that it builds up to a point where it breaks down and a re-evaluation is done closer to the core, to again expand out in a modified direction.

The more correct the core knowledge base is the longer the extrapolated knowledge can hold up in its expansion.

Then there is the need to know. Does a bird need to know advanced math or how to fly thousand of miles back to where they were born? Dolphins are consider very intelligent but givemn their physical limitations and environment they live it, there is not much they can do to alter their environment, unlike the physical capabilities of man.

Evolution of the brain is based on the survival instinct that lends to mate selection and in turn genetics. Only abstract man very often disregards physical reality for abstract beliefs and these faulty beliefs often contributes to knowledge distortion not inline with physical reality and survival. So we have the cycle, the ups and downs in society. However, population growth and advancing technology have enables a wider scope of knowledge access and as such .... well knowledge begets knowledge.
