Same here, the most I might have on my USB stick is an episode of a TV show or a download from another system, or just a few useful programs or something. So why encrypted something that is not really secretive?
Being able to afford it and wanting to pay it are two different things. I have wanted an excuse to go to Blockbuster online for DVD's as I want to get more blue ray movies for my PS3. This is a great excuse to switch as I will be paying extra anyways.
As for streaming, I might give that up as well, I am not sure yet.
That is only if you use it right away. I have gotten games and apps I don't rush to use myself. While I guess I can understand how 7 days is a bit on the long side, I still think it should be long enough for a person to take their time to try and not be in a rush to make a decision.
I would not buy a game like this for myself, or anybody else. I don't know what Capcom is thinking, but I bet that will be fixed when the rom is uploaded to the emulation sites. Sad, but the pirates get the better experience in the end.
Not everybody can read through a stack of legal papers that quickly. I never thought of myself a fast reader, but if it is something hard to understand or uninteresting written, then I will need a lot more time then you to read through it.
ether they are forced to close up shop because to many players jump ship, or they will make a killing selling nothing. Ether way EVE online will change drastically unless they remove this micro-transaction system.
I can't afford it. I might have been able to swing something like $20 a month, but I never seen anything close to being that cheap and nobody else posting here has ether.
I am in college and I don't have insureance. I also don't own an Ipod (I have a sansa MP3 player I bought years ago) and i never attented a frap party. Heck I don't even own a smart phone ether.
I was checking a few sites I got to from the list in the article. First one I checked was Amazon and it was "UNCERTAIN". Ebay was listed as bad which was almost as upsetting.
I don't get these company's. How can they not be up to date with security? Do they want a repeat on what happened to Sony to befall them?
Shame we as humans can't learn as we are doomed to repeat it even mistakes of the recent past.
I would reply and tell you how ridicules you are acting for insulting the person with a strong opinion, but you are an Anonymous Coward and really not worth the time
First, I don't have a video store anywhere close to where I live anymore. second, As already stated, Netflix HD video is better then DVD and has 5.1. Third, Netflix streaming is cheaper and has more of a selection then most video stores would have. Forth, It is more convenient to just watch then to have to pick up a disk. Fifth, It gives people more of a chance to check out movies/TV shows they would not normally see, If they don't like it, then they did not spend time and money renting it. and you still thinks it does not make sense...?

it also should have been expected.
Sell it to yourself. A cheap way to bypass that restriction, but it should be good enough.
/. should change the icon to a TARDIS :)

I thought America was the world police...or at least trying to be.
Not safe link, don't click and please somebody rate this down.
Then they can read all the emails the school sends me...which is mostly useless stuff anyways :P

How is Taiwan to blame? Google is the one you should be mad with. The law is good, but google's reaction to it just plain sucks.

I get them as well. I don't always pick up tho
So cell phones can't be put on a DNC or something?
Every time I get a Telemarketer call, it is a recorded message, so I just hang up.
and I only have a cell phone
I am running 3.6 on Win7. I am happy to see they released an update, but will this be the last one?

Not like there are many good options to fix this. Ether way we can only vote a corrupt asshole into office.
Same here, but I have not wanted to rent that game from a redbox as it would take me to long to beat..guess I got a reason to get a gamefly trial :P

I don't know about that
Heck I think /. is a little to pro-apple as well.
So lets see
1: Most Apple products are overly expensive
2: Iphones/iPods try to hard to force users to use iTunes
Time to see how badly this post gets modded down for speaking badly about Apple.

The article did not really say what happened to the stranded passengers...I wish they covered that a little more.
