I think the scenario they want to avoid is this:

They have a layoff, some one gets fired, has a shitty meeting, whatever. He snaps, and goes stalking office to office pumping round after round into his coworkers...(sorry).

Anyway, the thinking is probably that if some one has to drive home, get a gun, and come back, they're more likely to calm down first and go blow off steam at the shooting range rather than the office.

I think most gun owners are perfectly responsible. At least the ones I know are. I'm just saying it's not too dificult to imagine the companies' position.

One nice thing about the MERP set my friend had was that it came with two twenty sided d10s, that is it had 0-9 printed on each die twice, so it was much less clunky than a regular d10.

Also re MERP being two easy, I really think it depends on the GM. We considered it a great acomplishment if our characters survived to 5th level. By then of course, we usually had prices on our heads in Arnor, Angmar, Gundabad (sometimes all three). :-)

Not every RIAA album is crap. Yes, the huge acts tend to be the blander or "safer" acts, but there is still alot of talent out there that gets scooped up with the chaff. Exampes lying around my desk: Downset (one of the few real hardcore bands I've seen on a major label), Mazzy Star (fairly obscure, but they're on Capitol), Bjork.

I don't approve of their methods, but like MS, just because they are ruthless and underhanded doesn't mean that nothing worthwhile comes out of these companies.

I am not a physicist, this is just my understanding of the process.

The fusion reaction stops, since the pressure provided by the containment is necessary to maintain the reaction. As the poster below mentions, if the plasma ate through the torus, I imagine some radiation would be released between the time containment was lost and the plasma fell below reaction temprature.

The problem with fusion reactors seems to be the opposite of fission. That is the problem is not keeping the reaction below melt-down level. The problem is keeping it fast enough so that enough energy is produced to sustain the reaction. Therefore, I don't think a failure in a fusion reactor would produce a "China Syndrome" or anything like that.
