That's because the goverment in Canada knows better then you! You should know that, our elected dictator does his best to down play, and push things as he sees fit.
Ontario: $60,000 = $19,000 in federal tax = $3,800 in provincial tax Income tax return = $1,500
Now sit down and figure out how much you pay all year around.
In ontario, your paying GST and PST 15% this is ofcourse triple or more taxation.
The property taxes on the house here in town were $5,000 this year. No I live in a small down, ~28,000 people.
What am I pushing in just paying federal provinal and property taxes so far? $26,300(counting this years return) in taxes just to the goverment at this level. What percentage does that work out to being on $60,000? How much more do you think it would take to push it over 50%? $3,700 in Ontario when I'm 15% tax on almost all my goods it doesn't take long to add up.
And on and on it goes. Canada is the most heavily taxed in the world.
It's one of the most bizarre twistings of history I've ever encountered, since it was Gulf War I, and the presence of U.S. troops in Saudi Arabia to enfore the "no-fly" zone, that inflamed the hatred that motivated 9/11. It was aggressive foriegn policy that had the U.S. back both Saddam and Bin Laden for many years. (Foriegn policy shaped and executed, BTW, by many people who are now ranking members of the Bush junta.)
So, just when exactly did we "give peace a chance"?
And Iraq wasn't behind 9-11.
I'm glad to hear you were in Gulf war 1, I was in KFOR. Not really, it would be slightly closer to general hatred of western culture and it's corrupting influence(in their eyes), out of idle curriosity have you ever had the opportunity to sit down and have a discussion with a fundamental extreamist? I had the opportunity several times while in KFOR to talk to people who felt the same way. They are an intresting group to say the least.
Yup your right, forgien policy did back Saddam, when Iran was the enemy. And so were the Russians. Different times, require differnet measure...you can grab a book and read about how both events lead to the US backing both groups. And you can read about how Usama became the man he is by one of his ex-inner circle, I can't remember his name.
Once more, times change. Ask yourself, why didn't Clinton actually turn around and do something after the last 3 attack against American Targets. Why didn't he get Usama when several countries offered him to the US? Don't say legal, national security before law in that case. They knew he was the head of a terrorist organization, even Oliver North did...and yet they did nothing.
When did we give peace a chance? I'll let you figure that out on your own. But your right, Iraq wasn't behing 9-11, they have only funded two dozen other terrorist groups around the world...and the light is coming forth that there have been meetings betwen the Mukhabarat and al-Qa'eda. But more so, the comment is ment to enflame the left. I see it got under your skin rather well.
I think since I've finally been able to wake up, I can say that some people would say my comment would be "lack of attention span", I would argue that I can find a book more entertaining.
Most definatly, it does have credit for not always having the ship always in danger.
Nope I didn't. Why? Found the show to be too boring. I think I made the first 35 minutes or so, then I popped in avoiding armageddon since I really hadn't watched that yet.
Ofcourse, if I had been really bored...I might have gone outside...but I had been on the road all day.
I suppose when the repeats start I'll have to pay attention, but here is the kicker. You get stuck in a loop, if one show sucks you think the same thing for the next episode. And you judge it as such, 3 or 4 episodes in a row...and you don't hold faith when you get a slow moving chunk of crud comes your way.
Same show, rehatched ideas, visionless direction; lather rinse repeat. Bah...it's turned into a "PC our morality is always right" and your is always wrong show. Last nights episode was a good example.
What happened to entertainment, if I wanted to be taught morality, I would goto my local public school.
I've never cracked an athlon core(I have cracked a few Intel chips tho, when they first came out.), I have much as you've seen and heard reports of them. But, if that's the case then perhaps they need to go back to having a heat spreader...I've heard that the new Opteron's are using them. Or perhaps they need to move to a heat sink design that doesn't put quite so much pressure on the chasis and CPU core.
A good idea the question then becomes, how long before someone figures out what "pin" is used for monitoring, or how to bake the guts of the CPU with highvoltage to fry everything inside. It wouldn't take much ofcourse, but then AMD might go after the board manufacture or the consumer after the board manufacture instead.
A good point actually. I have, while I don't buy AMD products in a normal year, the stuff they gave me with my last P4(1.7ghz 478) was enough to cover atleast 4 CPU's.
I would say next time then, don't be quite so much of a troll based on comments, or spelling. Not all of us, really give a flying rats ass.
For some of us that are forced to write pretty words all day long, by hand...using a computer and making spelling mistakes is pure joy.
You have to find your pleasure somewhere, otherwise...you simply become cynical, bitter, and in general a grumpy pain in the ass. I don't like being grumpy.
Well the newer stuff is usually paraffin wax, it works really good for factory line's when your building alot of computers...but that's about it. Some of the older heat pad stuff was not much more then a chunk of cloth stuck to the heatsink.
But your right, it doesn't work and in my experiance hurts the ability to cool your processor.
So what does that say? Either too many people are either applying the grease too thickly, or people are using heatsinks and OCin' their processors too much.
Basicly what it sounds like is, people are cooking their CPU's from either/or...and AMD is tired of floating the loss because of idiots.
I was working on the machine, and the drive was acting kind of fluky in the machine. Pulled the drive and was going to try it in another machine. I ended up dropping at the top of a flight of stairs...funny enough the card was still intact, and the HDD still worked.
Better then before...and was no longer fluky.
Yeah that wasn't your grandma's flight of stairs...some how it went down 32 steps. The way it was spinning end over end I thought it was going to stick into the plaster wall at the bottom. Now that would have been something to see.
It's pretty bad when your right wing parties are still left wing.
If you want to live in a dictatorship feel free. I will not and will fight within the bounds of the legal charter which the goverment and courts has thrown to the wind.
Get your head out of the sand and try reading, and finding out "how" bad things are. I'm quite sure your one of those talented individuals that thinks that the US are "bad guys" and ignores what's going on in his own backyard.
Kind of funny isn't it? I always remembered it as CISIS. Canadian Intellegence, Security and Information Society. Maybe it's been far too many years of being cranked off about it that the parody name as stuck. Especially since it seems to suit them much better.
But you are right it is correctly spelt CSIS. Canadian Security Intelligence Service.
And as strange as it might seem man, it's not conspiracy rantola, it is true.
We have a Bill C17. They do charge you for information under the freedom of information act. The schools in ontario and more then likely else where teach all the same thing, and anything contraversial is supressed; only reason I know is because I have two much younger cousins being taught liberal tripe.
TV signals and non canadian dishes are illegal and you can be thrown in jail for them, thanks to CANCON.
The goverment has been data mining for years, Revenue Canada and Human Services(manpower or whatever it's called now) admitted to keeping a large database on all the information collected and shareing it with other goverment agencies as well as police.
There is a book shop called "Glad Day Books" here in Ontario that has had over 400 books seized by the goverment since 1995.
The goverment has openly admited to reading personal mail and opening packages, by law inspectors have to fill a quota regarding how much.
The police have held people already, but information has been supressed by court orders.
CCTV is popping up everywhere, they are going to be installing a few of them down the main street in my home town. I'm currently fighting it in the courts.
The new biometric's bill is still in discussion; I don't know what the bill name and number is now. But knowing how sneaky they are up here; they'll more then likely sneak it in with another peice of legislation.
And Trudeau was pressing for strong ties with the USSR, and if you look at how laws and regulations are written as well as those written in the former USSR; you'll see striking similarites in how they go about being enforced.
I am a Canadian, I was raised in canada, I have lived abroad. Things have gone down hill, despite the nay sayers.
We haveour own bill called C17. It's basicly the same as the patriot act.
Under the freedom of information act you can get anything, as long as you are willing to pay the money. I wanted some information regarding who is getting money for some of these tarrifs. Too bad they only wanted to charge me $30,000 canadian for it.
The goverment wants to control every part of your life and is moving for it. Every school in ontario teaches exactly the same thing, from exactly the same book and anything the goverment doesn't agree with or is contraversial is supressed.
TV is censored, despite our charter of rights and freedoms. American satellite dishes and C/KU band dishes are illegal, you can be thrown in jail for owning one.
The rights and freedoms are being eroded faster in canada, then anywhere else in the world right now.
Our goverment has been data mining and collecting information on citizens for years.
Books and other media are regularly seized at the border and held for ever if not destroyed. Customs has a quota to read and open any mail coming into the country and report on it's contents.
We have our own secert police that is accountable to no one, and no I am not a crack pot. CISIS has power the likes citizens haven't seen since the gestapo. They can wiretap your phones on a whim, no court orders. They can bug your house, hold you forever if they want. That's just a start.
Regular police can hold you for 60 days, and then require a judge to extend it beyond that.
CCTV is becoming a normal occurance all over the country.
The goverment is pushing for biometric ID's for everyone in the country, and with the "fall in line or loose your seat" politics in canada, you can be sure it will get passed.
You might wonder why I am still living here, it's because I'm fighting the goverment in it's own courts against this type of crap.
This is only a small taste of the DPR of Canada. Socialism run amok is the root cause, and you can see what it's gotten you in europe.
Before I forget, Trudeau tried to get canada to become a communist country back when he was in power. Many of the idea's have stuck around, and you can see them when you live here.
I have a 1996 SW2, it's gold, nice very good on insurance, good mileage as well. It costs me $480/yr cdn. for insurance.
No problems with the paint either, my friend accidently scratched my drivers door panel with his car door a couple of years back. The trick to get the scratch out is to take some "polishing compound" from back in the day water it down really well and spend an hour rubbing it out. If it's deep, go and buy a bottle of touch up and rebuild it layer by layer. Very easy. I did have to get the entire drivers side repainted because some punks spray painted it, the repair shop did a very impressive job matching the color, it was $1,200 for it, but the spray paint had eaten into the clear coat and into the paint. Atleast I didn't pay for the repair.
Dark color's and bright color's always fade very fast in bright sunlight. They have since the 1930's, and it's common knowledge? Maybe not...I guess having been an apprenticed bodyman at one point gives me some insight in this.
From a repair point, the panels require a special paint, back when the panels were new(Pontiac Transports '90ish) the paint was 4x-7x the cost of the older stuff. Same with the clear coat. Now it's twice a durable, and the same price.
Anyway my SW2 has 138,000 miles on it now, it still gets great mileage, and if you properly maintain the car it will last you for along time. It wasn't that many years(10-20 maybe) ago that someone would call you a liar if you said your car had 100,000 miles on it.
My buddies '95 SW1 has 380,000 miles on it. The damned thing is just starting to show engine wear. A good solid car.
Some of us still need them. I have somewhere around 900 floppies that I reguarly use, and yes I've got a CDRW and a DVDRW, and they work fine for backups; but what they should be doing is swapping the old 1.44 floppy out with a higher capacity ZIP or LS120(do they even make those anymore?) that has backwards compatibility.
Hell it should have been done 4 years ago with ZIP or LS120; I think ZIP would be the better way to go, with larger addaption but still; we need floppies of some kind still; wether it's in a 200MB flavor or a 1.44MB flavor.
That the sponser is a democrat from California? I wonder if introduceing this is an attempt to stop the iraq war or has some other type of issues that they dem's are trying to stop up.
Goto ottawa, ask to see the bills pertaining to the "Anti-Terrorism Act", it was a last minute addition added by the liberal party. There are sections that are classified, and it might be that, I on the other hand was in ottawa when it was passed and was promptly thrown out for screaming in the legislature for "expressing undue concern for the goverments total control".
You might think you were trolled, you were not. Sometimes tho, the truth is harder to accept then a lie.
Any satellite dish that is not canadian is illegal; includeing C & KU band. You can be fined and thrown in jail for owning on. The RCMP can seize them on the spot, or demand a grace period to hand over the dish to them.

Oh and don't forget lawful access, nothing like the goverment monitoring what you do online and keeping records of it. I think that one is atleast still stalled in parliment, but I've been working on bill C32 up and till today...which looks like a lost cause now.

I see someone didn't like the truth, and found it easier to mod then respond.
I wouldn't be surpised if this post becames the same. I will respond if someone is feeling up enough to counter me.
