  1. The universe is very similar to Shadowrun, which is probably why it tickled the fancy of a lot of people.

  2. From the hardcore SW geeks(like myself) Star Wars was terrible. It's a "okay space opera" it's a "okay non-SW cannon movie" but anything else it's just well terrible. And you'd find that most of us would have been happier without Space Mary Poppins and the ignoble death of Admiral Ackbar, or the shoehorning of nobody characters that were one dimensional, and garbage like "but I SAVED YOU!" as Finn decides to try and save the rebel base. The movie itself was terrible, it didn't even do a full run in China which is a big market. It lasted 2 weeks, with a ~92% drop off in week 2. Hell, if you really need to see how badly the movie is doing, they're already selling the toys for $1. If they'd turned around and used the EU cannon material of Thrawn, Mara Jade, and so on? You'd be seeing people cheer from the rafters, because not only is there a line of continuation, but the characters have more depth the Rey "thy Mary Sue" Super-force User and it likely wouldn't be such a flat movie.

The problem is Disney and the team of writers decided to pull the "fuck the hardcore fan" we'll make it for everyone else. And it failed just as badly as the Ghostbusters remake. Hell the media followed the same script: "It's not *our* fault it was, bad. It's all those alt-right trolls! Look even more trolls! That's why it's bad. NO REALLY TROLLS!" They're still doubling down on it at this moment, but I'll bet if I was a fly on the wall in the head office of Disney there would be an awful lot of worry, and attempts to push the entire team of writers and so on right out the door to try and salvage the franchise. And if you think TLJ is just an isolated incident? The new Han Solo movie has also been going through extensive rewrites, re-filming of scenes, and the main actor is apparently so wooden that they had to have an acting coach on scene. Don't be surprised if the new Han Solo movie bombs that Disney "put's it on the shelf" for a few years.

  3. The christians in trumps government seem to be intent on rolling back as many health reforms for women and removing equality for all because their religion says so to show that some christians still haven't entered the 20th century yet.

Repeating that meme doesn't make it true. Seems more like you're happier with the state/religion separation only working one way, where under those guaranteed rights businesses, charities, and so on also have protections. So do the people working for them, and in some cases people work for/volunteer for particular morals. Something that various left-wing progressive groups have been very happy to trample all over.

Let me know when those gay couples go out of their way to target a christian bakery again, and ignore the muslim ones(who also wouldn't bake them a cake).

If you're paying that much and you're in the US, well it sure didn't get any better after Obamacare managed to drive the insurance rates right through the roof. I should know, several of my neighbors down in FL who weren't on medicaid and lost their insurance were in very tight spots and/or ended up selling their homes and going into a nursing home.

Digital vs physical. You're getting something that has value from a CCG or grab-bag. With a digital lootbox there's not intrinsic value beyond what's in the game, and in many cases they can't be sold/traded/etc. In many cases the odds for CCG's have to be displayed, not so for digital. I think China, Japan and S.Korea are the only countries that require the actual odds listed on the lootbox right now.

There's only three types 1, 2 and gestational(pregnant women), everything else has it's own diagnosis standard and despite the people pushing for LADA(adult onset) to become a new one. It's still type 1 even if you develop it in adulthood, the treatments are the same, the precautions are the same. If they were paying $1k/mo they were likely paying for a brand new drug, where a combination of 2 medications would have only run them $60/mo. The farce with liraglutide is a good example. $1k/mo, but could be done with two drugs.

This happens a lot when sales reps push doctors to use "new" medications because they're obviously better, and safer, that's what they're saying and you best believe it! Ever wonder why the vast majority of reps are stunningly pretty women who were hired based on their looks not their background? But it hasn't got that far with Islam, just look at all those people who supported ISIS and whatnot, or tried arguing before the courts that raping women is allowed because their religion says so. Might only take another few hundred years before that's fixed, providing of course they don't change the "this is the true word of god, and questioning it is forbidden" and "changing it makes you an apostate and you need to be put to death" stuff first. See there was even a trick to it, they would declare the prisoners being sent to an "unknown location" and then basically dump them in the territory or colonial state. Who'd then be responsible for well...everything, from feeding to housing, and so on while it "was in dispute with the crown." And that could take years, and in the mean time the prisoners would/could be forced onto a plantation while arguing with the crown over it.

If you lived in Southern Ontario right now, you'd be thinking that. 2 weeks ago it was -23C. It was +9C yesterday.
