anywhere with a big non-English speaking population will turn up a lot of these errors. The thing that always baffled me was that in the case of such signage as awnings and shop signs, how does the sign make it all the way to being attached to the shop without someone involved noticing the error? I have stopped paying attention to these errors for the most part because there are just so many of them. Occasionally I'll come across one that is really funny but most of the time it is just annoying and a bit said.
I don't have any primates! I must have behaved irrationally and spent my primates unwisely.
Do any of you still have your primates? Give yourself a pat on the back if you do. You have exhibited excellent economic sense.
yes, collards are great too. Also kale, chard, bok choy. I eat a lot of broccoli these days, not because I particularly like it, but because it is cheap in my neighbourhood. Kind of tired of it by now though.
I never understood the reluctance of children and indeed grown ups to eat greens. I think it may be more to do with the method of preparation.
I'll admit I was always put off by over boiled cabbage as a kid, but I always loved spinach and most other greens. Mustard greens and water spinach are superlatively good especially if properly cooked. Asparagus too. Perhaps the abominable creamed spinach might be part of the reason for children not liking spinach in particular. Crack open a can of that and see if it doesn't make you gag before you even put it in your mouth!
Pretty much every seaside resort town I've been to in the past 15 years in NY, CT, RI, NJ, VA has a fairly decent arcade with pinball, classic video games and a bunch of hokey ball throwing, claw manoeuvring games. If you like that sort of thing. Every New England ferry I've been on has either Galaga/Galaxian or PacMan - or maybe Space Invaders (boring!)
Personally I'll forego the questionable atmosphere and the insane cost and relive the happy memories with MAME.
It is definitely a real guilty pleasure to waste all of those quarters especially these days when you can play all of these games for free.
The one thing that you can't replicate is pinball. For that alone I'm in favour of the continued existence of ye olde Arcade.
Can anyone direct me to a working version of Defender in NY? I was psyched to see a Defender machine on holiday last year - only to find that it was out of order. So close and yet so far...
Just delete the friggin' e-mails you don't want anyone to see when you're dead.
Is that so hard?
What, you want to keep a detailed record of everything - for yourself? Is that narcissism?
Seems obvious to me too that if they want to keep their bandwidth costs to a minimum they would be glad to actively maintain image resolution that is only as good as it needs to be for online viewing.
Faster loading pages, better user experience and all of that.
But clearly both parties are doing their best to make a strong point and in a way I do agree with Godwin's stance. If they back down now, what will they be asked to remove next, in the interest of national security and the usual excuses for greater governmental control?
I have to wonder why state employees were looking at back yards on Google Earth in the first place. Which came first - looking at (spying on) the back yards - or hey, we need to catch people with illegal swimming pools. I have a great idea, why don't we use Google Earth?
If there isn't already the will be soon a Chinese manufactured version of this glass.
It may not be quite as good but it will be significantly cheaper.
This is the case with most of these patented proprietary materials.
Hmm. I wonder. Because the majority of Irish people I have known are very complacent when it comes to how they are treated in shops and restaurants with regard to quality of food or service. Certainly in the past they typically put up with second best and pretended to enjoy the experience. I say this as a 100% Irish person who spent 25 years of my life there. The part about staff asking to help is different though and I suspect it is the feeling of being patronized that is most irritating.
I'd prefer not to try to put it down to being an 'Irish thing' though. Why strive towards a new stereotype?
Curmudgeonly Irish man argues with store clerk. News at 11.00
The photographer's photoshop skills are not much better than the average PS user but I think where these doctored photographs would resonate most is with people wo actually know the places in the pictures. I do not know them so they have little meaning for me.
And come on, it is not like WWII is ancient history. It is just one average lifetime ago.
Shamefully there is still war being waged lots of places in the world at any given time. I think pictures from current conflicts would have a lot more impact and would not require doctoring!
If the issue is with the high res nature of the SVG image (making it extremely easy for anyone to reproduce a convincing FBI ID, stationery etc.) then I think the sensible thing for Wikimedia to do would be to offer to replace that image with a lower resolution image. But of course this is the USA and the FBI have threatened legal action without first considering a reasonable conversation with Wikimedia. And Wikimedia have responded by saying they will defend themselves in court if necessary. Perhaps the reasonable discussion can still take place. Not if the lawyers can help it!
It makes perfect sense. The FBI seal has magickal Illuminati powers that become diluted when reproduced many millions of times on the internet, TV, comic books etc. They are just protecting their magickal powers. Wikipedia should not dabble with things they do not understand.
yew mite even say a bridge two far

Did Hawking real uses those words: 'Abandon Earth or Die'? If he didn't actually use those words the headline is wrong and should be changed.
There are real poor people in the US too. Really poor. Your definition of American poverty is just plain silly.
and anyway, you can't care what people think about you when you're dead. Right?
yeah. But they really need to make it cheaper. Like charge admission and make the games free.

run surprisingly quickly in old blighty. If it happened in the US the poor fucker would have been in and out of court for a couple of years.

New York Times is wrong. What's new? They lost their credibility a long time ago.
You are not alone!

Right?
Runs on rails - it is not a bus. More of a giant tram.

'dubious' is relative / subjective and not necessarily legal or illegal.
