maybe if america was as civilized as other countries, there wouldn't be as much gun violence, a good reason for more restrictions on them (like banning handguns)
i've been a hardcore netscape follower for years, but that's changing. just look at this crap they call 6.0:
- it's skinnable (probably makes it slower tho)
- they still believe in w3c standards
- it's literally caked with advertising and other bulk that i am never going to use (probably makes it slower)
- it's slow as hell. it acts like it's running on java or something, i really cannot believe how slowly it loads pages compared to msie on the same computer
netscape needs to seriously look at their product and make some decisions, or lose more and more users!
what about a few years from now, when there are permanent internet servers in earth orbit (on the ISS?). will they go under.gov, or will there be an.eo (for earth orbit) "ccTLD", since it meets the requirements....or maybe the rarely-used.int?
what about (further into the future now) systems running on the lunar surface? mars even, with that nasty 15 min lag time....
i love linux as much as the rest of you, but gnome and kde both annoy the hell out of me with their not-so-uniform window sizes, windows where the text/buttons doesn't quite fit, etc, etc...for those of us who are running it at 800x600, it really looks shitty
i didn't notice if anyone mentioned this already, but i use UltraEdit32 for all of my php programming in win. it has syntax editing, and yes, you can "save to ftp" as well...it's pretty neat
You only get what LOOKS like NAT if you use their stupid proxy servers. But, disable those settings and its basically an IP just like everybody else.
i only wish i could bypass their proxy servers. in my area (a small rural state in the mid-atlantic area}, i don't think you have that option, so you either go thru their proxies (and logging, spying, etc) or have no cable modem.
i worked for the natural law party's petition drive in texas, oklahoma, illinois, south dakota and penn., and our reaction to him was quite mixed, from the "whoa rad!" that we get from old hippies and more educated ppl, to the "i don't like commies" we get from the ppl hanging around walmarts in texas and okla....i like the guy, he's got good ideas, lets give him a chance:)
no doubt...if you've been on #linux or #linuxhelp (on undernet), you know that anyone who's opped think's they're too 1337 to help anyone, even if they ask a decent question, and not "its not like windows"....it's sad

Does anyone know that URL, I'd like to check that out.
yeah you can call my the conspiracy theory guy, but i can see MS doing this for sympathy, or maybe to just further tarnish how the public feels about those goddamn "hackers"
just a thought

I've been blind in one eye (left) since birth. My sight in the other one is okay, but as you can imagine my depth-perception is not what most people are used to. I've adapted quite well i think, and can estimate distance pretty well...but what really attracts me is the possiblity of having a more powerful eye implanted where my left one is doing nothing now.
Maybe i can get one so i can see infrared!
i'd want to be able to turn that off occasionally tho....
and how many yottabytes is that?

god fucking damn that bunny
now THIS is something i would buy, rock on!
did anyone actually read that? that's a decent parody, maybe it should be sent to ESR for the jargon file or something, heh....

i'd have a volvo over a bmw any day
because java is slower than frozen shit, thats why
and now the fucking link won't even work, it's 404
all of that sounds really sweet, and maybe this little battery is the answer

download it here:
http://www.ultraedit.com/downloads...and get your php wordfile here:
http://www.ultraedit.com/down loa ds/additional.htmli think the wordfile (for syntax highlighting) may be for php3, but it works the same
i watch a circa 1979 12 inch black and white tv.

so i don't even have a real ip address (sucks), and neither does anyone else on charter's cable network (at least in my area)...so i guess i'm safe

hey, something is better than nothing!
get a firewire pci card and drive, it's hella faster than usb and you can also do neat video stuff with it (if you have that type of cam)
.edu can't control the porno already posted by students (not to mention my-dorm-ethernet-mp3-and-warez-heaven.school.edu). ..
.mil sites have been known for years as spam gateways, but there is a tighter leash on that anyhow
