I could do that climb on a bike in about an hour, and it'd be better for my cardiovascular system than a segway. Cheaper and better for you.:) Unless of course it's a $5000 ti or carbon bike then it's just better.:)
I'm sitting here looking at one, and it's a slick little machine. No floppy or cd, but it _WILL_ netboot so installing Debian won't be that hard. It has an RTL 8139 chipset, so hopefully JHRIV compiled that into the kernel image so we don't have to do a custom tftp kernel to install debian on the thing. Slick little notebook however.:)
My kids actually prefer my linux machine to mom's 2000 machine. Something about all the cool games that install out of the box when you select "Debian Jr" during tasksel.:) My two oldest kids actually like this text based math quizzer, and try to out do each other on it all the time. I have them defaulted to KDE for the desktop, and most the stuff they do would be flash sites like Nick, bob builder, etc. I find it interesting that the kids go for the linux desktop vs the 2k box when they have all these games on both. For more on what's available for kids under linux goto the Linux For Kids website. Good luck, and just let the kids choose.
Heh, you don't have kids that destroy games. If everytime your kid scratched up a cd and you had to buy a new one, you'd be modchipping everything you had.
I was checking irc logs and all I saw was an "Oh crap" someone did the warflying. From Tracy on the 18th. We have been talking about doing this forever and have San Diego pretty much mapped out.:)
Take a look at Koha
most your programmers are hired to do custom work anyway, why would this be anything new? The beauty of linux is that if you need something done, you can hire someone in to customize it for you. You can't do that with windows as they don't give you all the code.
Courts have ruled before on this. Once a vendor vends a product they can't control it's resale, or what the person that buys it does with it. IMHO as far as doing this goes, if they put it in the airwaves, and you can receive it, then do what you want with it. That used to be the law from 1934 to 1986, private use only. How can you steal something that's all around you?? Then it was changed to prevent people from receiving cell phones and stuff like satellite signals. RF knows no bounds like that, ask the Canadians who can't subscribe.
You obviously don't get the point. Spam is seen as a cheap way to reach masses, because it doesn't cost the spammer. It costs the delivering ISP's, if you're trying to provide good service, and your pipe is plugged up by spam, then it's costing you your bandwidth. Harris is not paying for the ISP's bandwidth, so why should they get the privledge to use it??
As a native Iowan, who lives in Southern California (yes it was the high speed interenet that drew me here.:) ) I can attest that Iowa is FLAT, but not quite as flat as say Nebraska. I used to think that SE 5th by Southridge was a steep hill, now I go back there and don't even notice it. Flatness is relative I guess.:)
Just wanted to find out what the card is that they're using, so I could setup a preconfigured LRP and ship it back to my dad whose been dying for this type of connectivity.
If you guys like them so much, I know I like mine. They're still available at pckeyboard.com
Woot! Same here. Noisy beotch, but I love the feel. You can still get them at pckeyboard.com a bit pricy, but well worth it.
Just pick up a soekris if you want fun. :)

If you goto the squid page, you'll find the squid cache was started in 1995. Looks like prior art to me.

I'll stick with 32mb flash for my LRP. :)
