I'm almost certain the 96bits
number given refers to the D/A converter.
CD players, at least recently, also
have a 96 bit D/A converter.
It has nothing to do with the
bit rate

not exactly true, I've known people who have passed the Bar exam without going to college. It's difficult, but all you need to practice law legally is to have passed that Bar exam
when i used to have a palm i used to have a hackmaster applet that allowed me to slide the pen across the application button to go foward and back between apps (it wasn't actually multitasking, but it was a neat hack) i'm prertty sure it's called switchhack
or even better-- i borrow half of my 'text books' (mostly novels and essays) from the library.

Okay, we're really going off topic here, but c'est la vie:)
Well, IANAM (I-am-not-a-marxist), but from what I know from studying their thought some, they would explain this as a cornerstone of the 'class war', since the reason that individual small investors buy stock, is so that they can get a monetary return on their investment, so that they can be richer; eventually joining the 'Bourgeoisie' if they are fortunate and or shrewd.

Well, IANAW (I am not a Whatever), but at sea, also international territory, if your vessel, oil platform, or what have you gets attacked, the government who's flag that ship flies is supposed to have jurisdiction over it. Attacking a U.S. boat is like attacking the united statess, and I would assume space would work the same

I think he makes this assumption because of the vendors that sell in europe compared to the U.S.
Unless I am mistaken, RH is the #1 distro in the U.S., right, and S.u.S.E. (did i do the capitalization right ?:)) is the number one in Europe. RH uses Gnome by default, while S.u.S.E uses, again by default, KDE (unless things have changed).
Also, Mandrake, which becuase of it's great language support, I assume is popular in Europe, uses, by default, KDE as well.
, this is only a guess, but the ports are probably for a webtv type device. The ethernet is for the cable connection and the usb port is for a keyboard/mouse/controller type device.
I believe that it was called the E-mate. From what I read about it, it was a newton with a keyboard and a clamshell case. I'm not sure that Apple ever actually made this product. Anyone know any differently?
no, it was an outer limits episode, but they gave him either "based on", "concept by", or "original story by" credits, which means they weren't ripping him off, and instead were paying him for the use of the plot. plus, it was one of the better episodes, IMHO.
i think they "innovated it" . I remember seeing ads in a tigerdirect mailer, years ago (time of early pentiums?), for this huge mouse that had many, many buttons --I think 5-- and a wheel that stood slightly behind the buttons. It was ugly and didn't look egronomic in the least, but it was first.
Bloodshot, Quarterstick.
Is SST still indie?

I'm pretty sure Fujitsu has done just this in one of their new lifebooks
cd players, at least discmen, are only baned during take off/landing.
AFAIK, the only devices that are banned for the entire flight are actual radios and devices that send radio signals --like cell phones and beepers
or dare I say it, the Mekons --an english art-punk band, who has slowly muted into a country act
