WineX 2.01 supports 80 games (go check their DB) - I can hardly call this "later"

They said they will release almost all their modifications once they'll reach 20,000 subscribers...
According to their web site - they got "over 3000" - which mean they need almost 17,000 more subscribers in order to release all their modifications (sans copy protection - due to DMCA)..
Here in Israel we pay about 80 NIS (which is about $16) for a CD - and it's not even import taxes (those CD's are manufactured here under a license from the record companies) while making a CD costs about $0.5 (with plastic envelope and a leaf that goes $2) - don't even ask what the singer gets from it...
Unfortunately, Explorer on Mac OS 9 and OS X cannot show languages like Hebrew, Arabic and some others, and the MS office suite doesn't support those languages at all.;(
You can find more details about the tckPlayer here - it can be bought as a single stand alone app or it can be bought in a package of 9 applications for (for Zaurus) for $74.95 (details are here)
Then you wouldn't mind showing me the specs where I can switch on/off the Macrovision part, would you?
Oh, how about giving me very fast 3D drivers? oh, that will be only available in June..
What about The Rage 128Maxx 2 processor use in Linux? no support..
Maybe can I get a full support for both TV out and VGA without Xinerama (a-la Nvidia's Twinview)? nop, not supported...
Yes, nVidia doesn't give the source or specs, but I can use ALL the features of my Geforce card - top to bottom, while with ATI Radeon I can't (currently), not mentioning Matrox G450/G550..
I don't give a damn about the source - I give a damn about full feature driver (which got some nice extras - true dual head without need of Xinerama, shadow mouse, 2 versions of AGP for compatibility, and tons of other feature) which I don't get with others...
Sad, but true..

Umm, have you looked into the page???
This is NOT an official QT release, nor any of their employees, so my point stands..
You really don't know anything about video, do you?? this is PRO equipment, not something which gives you a compress video (a.k.a MPEG, MPEG-2, etc)...
It was just Nokia samples that Nokia gave (I don't think they gave it to them either), and Hop-On used it to install on the phones without any premission from Nokia..
Yeah, but read the posts - it's about putting MS solutions where they fit - and quite frankly, I would kick any IT manager who would want a Unisys MS based solution instead of high end Sun server (or IBM, or ummm... SGI high end machine)
And as I've written - there is a reason why not a single company - Dell, Compaq, HP - wants to re-sell Unisys solution..
No one says that with this product you'll save money right now - you're saving money in the long term - think no new windows version will be needed any more.
You're not saving money now on your current machines since you already bought the windows + office licenses. The product fits you if you plan to move those user (all or part of them) to Linux.
As for the price - I suggest you email sales@codeweavers.com - maybe you could come to a reasonable deal...
There is a small bug in the crossover office main menu - it says it's explorer 4.0 - but it's actually 5.0 (same bug with windows media player - it says 2.0 but it's 6.1)
And no, you cannot upgrade the MSIE to something newer yet..
I'm not near my PC's right now - but I'm almost sure it's actually works - you click a link inside outlook and mozilla/opera/konqueror/galeon opens - whichever browser that you like - just tell the crossover which browser is it (give it the executable filename - e.g. galeon)
WABI managed to run Windos 3.11 and I think Windows for workgroup. Problem is - that they never cotinued to work on it to make Windows 9x working. Same as OS/2 windows support (Win32S anyone?)
One of the things regarding the DeCSS issue is that the MPAA and their dogs went freaking cause with this piece you could simply copy your DVD, convert it to MPEG, DivX, WMV, whatever... Sure - it helped to enable Linux to play DVD's, but their main concern is the piracy...
Now look at Crossover office - does the Crossover installer remove CD Key checking? no. Does the installer still checks if you're having a previous version of office if you're running the upgrade? yes..
So I really don't see a case where MS want/need to sue codeweavers.. as much as I see it - it's just more clients for MS without MS lifting a finger.
This is just like Windows Media Player - same issue, same license. Did you see Microsoft suing Codeweavers for enabling WMP to run under Linux? nop..
Fonts problems - due to Apple patents, the fonts hintings are off - a simple workaround would be to recompile freetype with fonts hinting on (read the README.UNX inside the freetype package), and copying it to the cxoffice/lib. This should give you same look as in windows.
Access - is pretty problematic right now - its slow. Wait for 1.0.1 (or you can buy crossover office today and get the free upgrade) for the fixes.
Macros/VBA stuff - works perfectly.
Clipboard - you'll need to install an old DLL (mfc42.dll) to the cxoffice/support/dotwine/fake_windows/Windows/ directory and then it will run (will be fixed in 1.0.1).
Excel tables, embedding - works.
ODBC connection - cannot test due to Access running problems (read my first part).

Hmm, this reminds me this question..
How is Open Office with Mac OS X? I don't see any Mac binaries on openoffice.org, but there are instructions to build it..
Does anyone test Open Office on OS X? how good, fast, bug free is it?
Just because it's closed it's "causing inconsistant stability"?
And what makes you absolutly certain that if the Flash plugin was open source that someone will actually fix it?
Just FYI, there are tons of places where you can get info how to develop a flash "player" - be my guest, write an open source plugin...
Nop, I'm HeUnique, and the parent poster have few mistakes (kernel, kde version, Wine version, etc - all wrong versions - check the ISO yourself)...
Also, the package got more then Corel installation, and they have their "click-n-run" which is not exactly apt-get, and some other conflictions...

Before you jump and recommend Unisys ES7000 machine, perhaps you want to take a look at IBM solution which is based on the Summit chipset?
1. Their solution (although not 32 way - only 16 ways) is HALF the price of Unisys 16 way machine.
2. With ES7000 You cannot use Linux or any non MS solution. With IBM solution - you can.
Yeah, but read the posts - it's about putting MS solutions where they fit - and quite frankly, I would kick any IT manager who would want a Unisys MS based solution instead of high end Sun server (or IBM, or ummm... SGI high end machine)

If you try to install it with standard wine - it will never run - you'll need to know registry and wine very well to make wine run the installer...

for 2 reasons:
.doc/xls/ppt perfectly to office 2000.
1. Try OpenOffice or Star Office or any office clone in Linux - NONE of them import & export
2. Workers - do you really think it's easy to re-train them after so many years to something new (and most of the time half baked)?
Read my comment above
umm, so be in situation like Mandrake and like what used to be Eazel?
heh, I hardly think they'll listen to you..
