It's so highly regarded because a bunch of people regard it as highly regarded. Look at other epic trash like Shakespeare or Verne (The Time Machine is horrible--it's basically a ginormous run-on paragraph).
Yes, Verne's The Time Machine is absolute trash. H. G. Wells's remake is much better though, you should check it out.
Firstly, homophobic is a ridiculous word -- inaccurate as hell. You can be against homosexuality (generally due to religious beliefs) and not have a phobia about it.
Well, the word actually paints homophobes in a positive light. After all, attacking people due to fear is more understandable than attacking them due to merely disliking their choices that hold no relation to your life at all.
Describing Lynch's Dune as the "Picard version" was a hell of lot funnier than the Hitchhiker's movie. That particular version of Dune is terrible, by the way. I have never read the books, but the TV version is amazingly better in every aspect. From the top of my head, problems with Lynch's Dune were the ridiculous voice-activated weapons that dramatically underplayed the importance of desert tactics, making Paul's force the technologically superior one. Characters aren't fleshed out enough. Either Paul is not age appropriate or everything happens too fast. Raining in the end didn't make ANY sense. The voice overs really don't work. Paul's powers are never explained, he ends up more like Akton from Star Crash in that regard than some sort of jedi or something like he should. In fact, between the two, Star Crash as the best movie.
I was going to give it a try, but I just realized I'd have no idea how to explain operating systems and distributions to a five-year-old. Ask again when you're at least 12.
Enunciation was alright. The voices were too off, though. Sure, finding people to sound alike could be hard, but Kirk's voice is way too high, for example. Scotty's ok, mostly because his terrible, pitch-altering fake accent is almost exactly like the original Scotty's terrible, pitch-altering fake accent.
Nah, there are several issues of equal importance. You'll never be able to jam your opponent or be jammed yourself, since your movements will always be unrestricted. You can't simply try to overpower defenses since the computer won't be able to gauge strength applied. Reacting to a small opponent on a TV is way harder than to a full sized one. Also, evading or getting out of striking distance is, even if perfectly emulated, unintuitive due to lack of spatial references.
The problem with those industries is te old saying: "there's one born every minute*". A never ending flux of uninformed idiots supports stupid businesses.
* it's more like 4 per second, now, so either that saying is incredibly outdated or it was coined by one of them.
So setting aside the open nature and potentially the "cost" (i.e. Microsoft tax) --- I don't see this being an improvement over Windows.
Fragmentation isn't a disadvantage when you're expanding. Android now works with lots of different screen sizes, resolutions, chipsets etc. That just means you can successfully port it to any kind of device.
BTW, we're talking ARM here, not x86. Competitors to Android would be Windows RT and iOS, not the full-fledged Windows we all know and hate with varying degrees of intensity. That means Android is significantly more open than the competition. There's a tremendous gap in performance, but an even bigger one on price between an RK3188 and an i3, meaning if Lenovo is smart, they could price this very attractively, especially when they don't have to pay for a Windows license. It does make more sense in desktops (or sticks) tough, since the display will level the prices somewhat.
This gets me thinking about Canonical and Ubuntu. If this takes off, then Mir was a pretty good bet and we'll all benefit from having an Android-compatible graphics stack.
More than movies and games, I'm concerned about reality. Currently, it seems some wars are pretty rewarding or consequence-free for the warmongers. Look at the latest Iraq war. The UN has not sanctioned the US or the UK even though they lauched an unilateral, illegal war based on wrong, unproven excus^H^H^H^H^Hassumptions.
Also, the Red Cros received funding from Humble Bundle initiatives that included games like Saints Row 3. Where's the line of disapproval? Tropico? Evil Genius? Rainbow Six?
Sure it can! But so can the PS3, and yet...
They are under NDA. IIRC, Motorola called their bluff and Microsoft never even sued.
Fine, what term would you use? Gay hating? And what about his racist views?
Homophobe is still fine in that case. Remember - fear is what leads to anger, then anger to hate...

-1 Troll is wrongful moderation, indeed. Should be -1 Lazy.

Oh, come on. Stupid romans. That definition is even more ridiculous than the weird leaps, stretches and assorted silly walks I was imagining.
Those romans must have had really long legs. A 1m pace is already pretty uncomfortable.

Why haven't you rooted the crap out of that thing yet?
The question is not whether the US is the "good guy." In international politics there aren't any "good guys."
There are bad guys, though. And usually not the ones the bad guys claim are to be the bad guys. Go figure.

just that Kirk was quick to throw a fist
Usually not quick and often enough not a fist, but yeah.
If you lived on a latin american country, that statement would simply make sense at any point in time.

For flight sims, sure. But ask any SWAT officer, and see if they'd not rather use a Dual Shock controller.
because it's a swordplay game. to have a controller with feedback that's cheap you would need what amounts currently to "magic".
Or, you know, a friend, two PVC pipes and some foam.

Apparently. And they both just got... sbinged?

Well, did you send the config files?

It was to be announced at the Developer Summit on Monday. As you know, the CEO loves surprises.
