    I think Opera would qualify. As far as I know, it just has a banner ad that runs all the time. Not nearly the same as all the spyware out there.

    Actually it is sort of allowed.

    If you offer free download then the sources must also be a free download, but if distribute binaries on cd then you can offer sources for a nominal shipping and materials charge. $15 for the sources on CD would qualify if that included shipping.

    Simple really. Two odometers, one for inductance driving and on for when off the grid so to speak.

    When you renew your tags, you pay according to your mileage on the inductance odometer. There are many ways to split up the payments. There should be no need for GPS monitoring.

    There are two main ways to get white light from LED's-

    Phosphur coated bulb that is actually Blue or UV. The blue based LED tends to range more in to the Blue spectrum. The UV is pretty clean but extremely expensive.

    The other way is to use an array of different LED's. A Led produces light at a specific wavelength of say 430nm. Combine that with say 550nm , and 670nm (basically Blue, Green, and Red), and focus it properly and you have something appears to be white. Increase the number of LEDs and it will give very nicely white balanced light. The only problem is that shadows will have colored edges.

    What do you mean? Yes, I was born an American, but I take the duties of Citzenship seriously. I vote, write my representatives, I discuss political issues with my peers. I choose to be a US Citizen.

    It IS an attack on our ideals. Using such terms is an attack on the very fabric of our nation. There are worse things granted, but one fights all evils.

    If I call you a jerk or worse, it is an attempt to degrade you. By failing to call me an American or US Citizen, you are attempting to degrade me. I will not idly let it slide.

    If you are not proud to be a Dutch Citizen, then perhaps you need to move to where you can be a proud to be a Citizen.

    Citizenship is a choice. One can choose to move to the USA and become a US Citizen. I understand that some other countries allow foreign nationals to become citizens. If you are not proud of your choices, then you should be making different ones.

    WTF is a USA-ian? Do you mean United States of America Citizen? If you are not proud to be a US citizen, then there are procedures to divest yourself of your citizenship. I whole-heartedly endorse you to do so.

    If I lose my Amex travellers' checks, I am not out my money. If I lose tickets, I may not be out my money. Many ticketing agencies can reissue tickets.

    Maybe substandard service is acceptable to you, it is not to me.

    There was a version of the Sims that was ported to Linux.

    It is $15 for a 3 month subscription. It does renew but you can either cancel the subscription or use a one time credit card number to sign up.

    Wine is more of a translator. It takes the windows API and translates those calls to the appropriate POSIX one.

    Most things run just as fast in WINE as they do in Windows.

    Buying a game is an impulse purchase using discretionary funds set aside for entertainment.

    Those same funds could be used for books, dvds, cds, board games, and other things. See a common thing to the list? They are all things that can be used immediately. Things that are limited by a given time such as going to a movie theater or seeing a live show, if the show gets overly delayed or cancelled, then you expect a refund.

    It is reasonable to not expect any delay in playing a computer game. Also what happens when Valve goes out of business?

    One of the things I love about Linux is no serial numbers. When I installed Doom3 in linux, it worked great. No serial numbers, just install and copy over the pak files. Only when I needed to authenticate online did I need to enter a serial number. In Windows, it was a pain in the ass, need to enter the serial number just install, needed to enter again when playing online. Need to have the damn cd in the drive to play.

    Actually, I upgraded about 3-4 weeks ago. I knew that 6600 AGp would eventually be available, but was getting really fed up with my Radeon 7500.

    Mozilla was written with the Netscape code. Yes, they rewrote most of it, but they still used the code as a framework when they were write the original Mozilla milestones. So Netscape 4.x is the ancestor to the current Mozilla project.

    Well, depending on what part of ND, places like Mayo are not that far. I know that the Medical Universities in IA are far superior to what in CA.
