Isn't this the perfect use of our intelligence community? I think this is a very valid threat from a community like China who has been known to have spies in the US at all times. (Not saying we don't spy back, but that's the game!).
A lot of federal agencies have policies about using foreign hardware/software for reasons just like this. Go USA!
I like fully functional media players like WMP and itunes, but the core is actually playing media.
Actually, when WMP 9 came out, it was such an improvement in media library management, that I couldn't deal with any work computers that might have still had 8 on it. Now I use itunes, but that's besides the .
Same here! I work with two of the non-ENSCO employees. Awesome video of their truck doing their course. REALLY Freaking cool. Good sounding engine in that beast. I'd love to make it into a daily driver.
I agree with Gates on this one. In time, all of these individual pieces of tech we have (cell phone, mp3 player, movie watcher etc) will succesfully morph into one unit. It will take time and there will always be a niche market for those that need the best quality/professional quality devices.
It won' thinder my individual liberties. It should streamline my life. Make it easier to board a plane, easier to get a bank account etc. I don't give two shits.
I'm with you gator. I just relocated by 32" 185lb HD CRT from the 4th floor to the first floor. That SUCKED. And it had only been a year since moving it up to the 4th floor. Yeah.. no elevator.
My friend has a 43" DLP LCD (i think) and it only weighs 80 lbs. lucky bastard

Why would I want that?
I don't want millions of people telling me how funny looking I am. It's not like I'd get a high paying job out of it or my own TV show on ABC.
Doesn't sound appealing to me, but I guess I'm not vain enough.
It really stinks when you want to play with these technologies, but as a federal contractor, not something we can do.
I don't think there are too many screen readers our there that can handle AJAX quite yet.
Hmm.. screen reader built onto Firefox? Notices when stuff changes. I could build that. Sweet.
i wouldn't particularly think so. they're not forcing you to use it. you have other choices.
it's different than them basically forcing OEMs to put windows on their machines.
Preach on.

Good luck to my former co-workers who are working with Ensco on the project. From what I hear, they're loving being out there and having a great week!

(psssssst, rapists are sex offenders)
but i agree with your thoughts.. but then again, i'm a big fan of just sending people off to remote islands or mass drownings of convicted felons.

I can't seem to find an example on the maps site. Maybe if the article were available I could see one
for some strange nuclear reason i could read it while on my throne of power.

so to be "HD" you need to display the whole HD spectrum? not just 1080i? Damn I'm going to sue Toshiba for my TV that only does 480i, p, 1080i
Our office got closed yesterday cause of it. We got hit pretty badly.
