  1. Re:So much for... on Teenage League of Legends Player Jailed For Months For Facebook Joke · · Score: 1

If people get in wrecks and become dependent on government assistance programs as a result of disabilities caused by their injuries, is it wrong to put in place laws that can be demonstrably shown to lessen the severity of those potential injuries? In one instance, you may be burdening individuals with laws "for their own protection," while in another instance you may be potentially burdening tax payers with providing support for someone who is otherwise incapable of providing for their self.

How does dubbing a movie that has nothing to do with Navajo culture help preserve Navajo culture? Not trying to troll, I am asking honestly. It seems a bit insulting, the insinuation being that the whole of their culture is distilled down to their native language.

The article makes it seem as though the offer will only be extended to those who, due to flying frequently, are invited to the program by air lines. So really it is for CEOs, celebrities, and politicians that fly frequently to avoid those few run-ins that they have had in the past. Maybe it is just cynicism, but I am feeling like this is just "we are trying to be better" posturing masking an attempt hopefully prevent accidentally groping someone that can use their social position to have their voice easily heard by a large number of people.

  24. Re:Apple Stores on Apple Causes Religious Reaction In Brains of Fans · · Score: 1

An atheist wouldn't have to define what god is, and religions and religious people most definitely define what their god/gods are. I am not saying that there is proof for their not being a god, I am saying that the proof doesn't point to a god. I feel there is a clear distinction in the two. For you to not believe in unicorns doesn't require you to have proof for their nonexistence, it requires proof for their existence. One wouldn't believe one way or another if what a unicorn is wasn't already defined, it would be a non-issue because without a definition the ideology is nonexistant. Or, rather, by default an ideology has a definition because the definition creates the ideology. In a logical argument the burden of proof lies on the holder of the belief. I am not making a claim that there is no god, I am stating the fact that the evidence that I see doesn't point to a god.
