man those things are such a pain sometimes. i have one, and its nice because they let you carry a negative balance for one trip (nice because that lets you get home from a concert when you are tired, sober, and sleepy), but there have been numerous instances when ive had to fish the damn thing out of my wallet and hold it RIGHT UP to the sensor and it STILL hasnt worked. even changing turnstiles doesnt alleviate the problem sometimes.
thats because emacs is the only program that includes everything and the kitchen sink. and lets keep it that way. we dont need another emacs running around.

a) how are you going to prove who has what right to whatever media they have on their computer? b) whats to stop someone who has been tapped for investigation from purchasing liscenses for said media? c) how much money can you REALLY get out of someone for that? couple thousand bucks? there arent any real provable damages, the only lost revenue is from the CD sale itself, and since those are all under 20$ these days, the legal fees are going to hurt the RIAA/whoever more than the actual settlement.

i use and love (well i dont love windows, but its necessary) all three operating systems in their own right. each has a place, and each has its triumphs as well as mistakes. companies are good, companies are bad (and some are downright evil). you cant go around saying things like that without a small reality check.
its kind of a catch-22. by not commenting your code, you inevitably lock yourself into your job function. the more that you write, the harder and harder it will be for them to fire OR promote you. granted you might not be thinking about that now, but if you ever want to make it up to project manager, you HAVE to let your self be replaced. the key here is to get people to like you. then they have a MUCH harder time firing you.
