    MS didnt create hotmail thou. they bought it. so its not really their good, more like their money, that has that happening. all they actually did is add security holes/and passport.

    this thing is perfect for anyone who is getting a computer/mac for the first time. and is going to use it to play their mp3's.

    you get 5gb of storage. you can put ALL of your mp3's on that. most ppls collections dont get above that. and if they do...well there will be a bigger one by then. that way you get back the 5gb from your internal HD, and you can take all your music with you wherever you go. since its buspowered you dont ever have to do anything more than plug in ONE cable. all your file management can go on through iTunes, and playback on the desktop as well. this is ingenious.

    dev tools comes on a separate CD, so id highly doubt theyd send you both. i worked in Tysons Corner, and had this discussion came up with a couple customers. Dev Tools is only avaliable in retail package, or from developer.apple.com (free signup)

    that nealy neglects things that break CONSISTENLY after warranty has expired. IE from the use of substandard parts. The clutch in Apple's Wallstreet laptops is a prime example. When almost every single product on the market fails, thats a problem with design, wether or not the warranty is up, and responsible companies should be willing to work with the customer to resolve the issue.

    Since pluto technically isnt a planet anymore and is more of an annoying asteroid that happens to be in the right place, why are we bothering to study it? its so far away, that it is of little or no use to us, its too cold to live on feasibly (not to mention too small) and the money is better off going to other programs (like it is NOW)

    Im a big mac fan. I cant help it. I grew up on them. The next computer i get WILL be a G4 or whatever is new when i scrape up the cash to get one.

    BUT IM TIRED OF THIS TOPIC

    next time someone posts something about OSX on intel it should be modded -1 redundant and move on. Cmon editors...filter this out already. Until apple actually releases OSX for i386 i really dont want to hear it anymore.

    Honestly when are you going to get off your high horse and accept the MacOS as a viable platform? Fine - i will accpet that anything before X was kind of stilly (but still far superior for any sort of graphics work).

    X is BSD and its a MARKET interface. Remember that /. readers are typically the nerdier sections of any community. X is going a LONG way to bring unix to the desktop. The code monkeys are poking around and figuring out how to make it even easier for morons to use and you mock them? Go soak your head. The quicker we can get people to accept a BSD/Linux/Unix/*nix style operating system the sooner we will all be able to play together a lot better.

    UGH. even IF you are underage (as you MEANT this i suppose) you still have every right to voice your opinion!

    Just because the politicans wont listen to you because they chase the almighty vote doesnt meant you dont have a good idea or a worthwile peice to add to the mix.

    This is one of the more asinine things ive read on /. in a LONG time.

    If you had only said "If you voluntairly give up your right to vote, you cant complain." Take a look at www.jsa.org for an example of people below the legal age to have the right (privelage) to vote that DO care and DO have honest, valid, and sometimes different opinions.

    Keep the agism somewhere else.

    Trends, i.e. Prohibition, Disco, and Microsoft always go away when something better comes along. (in said cases organized crime, ROCK and Linux, respectively) When software publishers realize that reviews count for a lot because some people actually read them. (These incidentally are the people who everyone asks for software/hardware advice). And the box doesnt count for squat. But maybe thats me not being a moron...i dunno.

    Ok so im really depressed about this. Anyone else? I remember back in the day when Bungie was an upstart making a superior prodcut (Doom || Doom2 vs. Marathon anyone?) for a minority market. And they were winning. What happened huh? Bugnie used to be a company with attitude. I wore my "Dont make us kick your ASS" shirt with pride. If anyone would care to comment as to when and where Bungie lost their balls id like to hear it...

    Have they been in trouble for a while and I didnt notice? I cant imaginge...Myth I and II were spectacular...Oni demoed at MacWorld 2000 was such an awesome game. I was very confident i could say "Bungie Rocks" well through college when anyone asked me what games i can actually play on my mac. Whats with this selling out to the man huh?

    Sidenote - Whats gonna happen to Bungie.net hmm? Their front page is less than informative.
