The Danger + Opportunity thing is likewise very dubious. Evey chinese speaker I've spoken to has never seen the connection - and I bring it up since I heard a professor of Chinese literature bring it up as a stupid myth that Americans believe. I believe even Cecil (of Ask Cecil) has slammed this phrase. It *is* a combination, just the same as "Assume" is a combination of "Ass, U and Me". That doesn't mean that any great poetic meaning should be attributed to it.
Wrong. This is not a 'myth' at all. 'Crisis', written in Chinese, is a 2-word combination, which uses 'danger' as prefix, and 'opportunity' as suffix. I'm a native Chinese, FYI.
Are you sure it's Real movie? I clicked on the link, and it launches a console of Quicktime on my WinXP box (Only XP box in my office, dude). Maybe someone could clarify on this?
Enthusiastic gamers won't buy this. What it offers maybe top notch for today, but Average Joe now knows Moore's Law:) Upgradability(is it a word?) is the key, I think.
Personally I've no experience with this scanner. Can anyone who tried share thie experience? BTW, could they be beaten by wearing some hacked contact lens (as in cheap action movies)?
the thing Octopus piss me off is that it charges HK$50 prepayment. There's no way we could get back that prepayment as long as you are using their service, and when you lost the card you've to pay that HK$50 again.
So you can always get the PERSONIALZED OCTOPUS card, if you tend to lose your card frequently. Then you don't have to pay for that down payment again.
Octopus has become a society problems here. Kids are allowed to use the Octopus to pay goods and services in many areas like department store and internet Cafe, etc. People are concerned that while the payment is untrackable, their parents cannot tell where their kids spent their money.
Please enlighten me, what kind of SOCIETY PROBLEM is that? That's *PRIVACY*. I've never heard a single parent complain about that.
...a Deja Vu, right?
First stuff in Sunday morning is a review of a 2 yr. old submarine movie? In Slashdot?
WTF??
(Maybe because the movie has MENTIONED Enigma, so really matters to us, right?)
Gosh, where's my coffee? I can smell the bad day ahead...
Wrong. Both of them are Japanese:
Sho-Gi: Sho means "General(s)", Gi means "Chess" (i.e., chess of the Generals)
Go: simply means five
A little more on the iPod 1.1 update:

1. It can correctly display some previous undisplayable Chinese characters now, which is a great saving: a very common character that is used in Chinese names can now been seen. It was such an eye-sore!
2. There used to be a track in my iPod that would freeze up the machine. Now the problem is gone.
Yes, I live in Hongkong and was lucky to grab a Japanese release a few months ago. I'm a big fan of FF since FF I, but FFX was a great disappointment to me. The graphics were stunning, the music was emotion-tearing, but the flow of gameplay? Sucks. Every an hour or so a cut-scene pops up, yes, you'll say 'wow' when you first saw one, but after 10 or so, you'll feel fed up. And each cut-scene is about 5-15 mins. long, gave me a feeling that 'Hey, who the hell is playing the game? Me or the characters themselves?'
Maybe Square wants to redefine RPG-- Roles Plays the Game, not you;)
And I resold my copy after about 15 hrs. of gameplay.
model no. PAT2GP1V's manual states that along horizontal plane the accuracy is 3.1m average, 10m maximum, and NO ACCURACY DEGRATION under U.S. DOD-imposed Selective Avaliability Program.
Geez, and they think such an 'upgrade' for GPS is NEWS.
...I think the title was "MIX your own B-52."
I must be drunk already.

The sodium-in-the-pool experiment must be a go-code for them. ("Go go go! Our undercovers have turned all the water into acid!")

It just repeats itself again and again.
He's really making money fast!
Yeah, big deal. I was referring to the watch's operation manual, not the webpage.
