    Look last time I checked, it was the Open Source movement who was trying to pass a bill to make Open Source software mandatory.

    I don't think that we'll ever get a single sign-on solution. Corporations always want to have there own registration forms.

    There's no doubt that Passport failed for that and so did Sun.

    You must be wrong because WinXP server is coming out in 2003. So it just makes no sense to stop support before even a newer version comes out. Besides, there's not much differences between the two so it would surprise me.

    It's time to move on and forget about OS 9. OS X is the future. There's not time to waste.

    Of course, I also want to point out the fact that if MS did something similar, people would be going crazy. Hell, people went crazy when MS decided to stop supporting NT4 so imagine if they did something like that :)

    Everytime I buy a DVD I would like for them to also offer me a downloadable version of the movie. Sometimes I just need to have the movie on my computer to and sure I can copy it myself but why can't they do it for me?

    This way makes it a lot easier for me. I wanna be able to save the scenes I want, show a funny scene to my friends, etc. It comes in handy for Simpsons episodes.

    Well I got news for you people. The US isn't the only government that is corrupted, evil, money driven, etc. All the governments are pretty much the same. So grow up already and smell what each and everyone of your governments is doing. Of course the same apply to Americans.

    I'm willing to bet that at least 60% of Canadians are happy with such legislation. Very few people care about there privacy.

    Hell the government can look at our bank account whenever the hell he wants to. I sent letters to the mayor, letters to some political parties and no response whatsoever. What's amazing is that everyone I talked to didn't seem to care about the fact that the government can look into there bank account without permission.

    This is the slashdot crowd.

    The same people who want to pass a bill that makes the use of Open Source software mandatory in the government.

    The same people who want freedom of information.

    The same people who complain about the DMCA over and over again.

    Yet, according to the posts I've seen, many of you would be willing to forget about the DMCA, forget about Apple's censorship, forget the fact that Apple is as proprietary as a company can be and buy OS X.

    I think you're flat out lying. My question is. Do you do Video Editing under Linux? I've used a few of them, and for some reason they shutdown when I'm in the middle of something. Are you a gamer? Do you do desktop publishing?

    Red Hat wants to replace it with the open sourced Ogg Vorbis and considering that they're pushing for a bill that'll make the use of open source software mandatory makes them even more evil.

    Look, first time you copy a song or anything, it'll ask you if you want to use those digital rights stuff so where's the big deal here?

    Canadian officials say such laws are necessary to fight terrorism and combat even run-of-the-mill crimes.

    Okay, so why exactly is it now easier to get a student visa or an immigration? Oh I guess that doesn't count, because they'll be bringing in some money.

    If they're so concerned about our security, why have they yet to sign the Kyoto protocol?

    Apparently, ripping us off from our money is not enough, they also need to control us.

    Actually they wanna make you believe that it's because of the whole 9/11 thing. But the truth is that our Canadian government is making immigration laws and student visas a lot easier now that it's harder in the US. In short, the government will do anything that gives it more money and/or more power.
